Omg Free Diamonds?? -Contest-

Hello Everyone!

My name is Bleedingblak and I am from the guild Pewpewkittens (US-Artemis). I am an endgame player, who enjoys running and statting endgame. I have played this game for 5 years, watched it thrive, watched it die, watched the process happen over and over again. I've been here through many lives of many popular players, and now it's time for me to give back to the community that once gave me guidance and helped me through my 5 years of ROM.

Simply put, I wanted to give away something that everyone could prosper from. I wanted this contest to reach out to as many rom players as possible, so I made the requirements as simple as possible, so to enter you must simply:

Tell me about a memorable moment you had in ROM. Type as much or as little as you want. (please include character name and server name [ex: US-Artemis])

I will pick 3 POSTS AT RANDOM. MULTIPLE ENTRIES (meaning an extra “memorable moment”) WILL RESULT IN THE POSTER BECOMING DISQUALIFIED. Feel free to reply to posts tho (such posts do not count as “entries”)

Prizes are as follows:

ahoy the pirate!

character name: Bilaxi
server; Artemis

I remember many fun chats with Lemonater over the years, and seeing him chatting in world always brightened my day. I'm going to miss that old pirate, and still hold pout a little hope that he will drop by from time to time to say hi. He made the game a lot more classy, and I think just about everybody enjoyed having him around, no matter what guild you were in. The game is poorer without him.

Yo ho ho and a bottle of Molson's!

My most memorable moment is probably duoing FA with my good friend JKM(more commonly known as darkness). We were both playing somewhat hybrid combos(with pretty horrid gear, if i do say so myself, I don't even think DoD was out at that point...), and we were both pretty low level to be duoing(i think 23-25ish?), so it was fun assuming multiple roles during the run. From kiting the zombies(hollow shell) around to rooting trash during large pulls, it was about the purest fun i've ever had while playing RoM.

edit: i'd just like to thank BB for hosting this event. it has brought back many memories, and it's wonderful to see everybody share their "moments" of RoM, as we can all relate on some level. we are not p2p, f2p, endgame, noob, crafter, dungeoncrawler, quest-junkie, RPer, we are all simply RoM players. i really hope either this thread gets continued or another one like it gets opened, even after the contest, just so people can share their positive moments in RoM, no matter how big or how small they may be.

My memorable moment is when froggster made a live stream covering the introduction of the dwarves right before chapter 5. they showcased the warlock, the champion and did a trial run of the to be released instance ac. believe they did an ez mode run and the place had a lot of never seen mechanics like mobs that made your screen black and moving obstacles with tornados. It also had puzzles which reminded me of my dnd days (ac was a pain). I remember i was in ts with the hole guild watching it. And seen the stream a lot of people were thinking champions were gonna be op and change siege completly. it kinda happened, although it took a lot more time then people were thinking. felt like it was one of those rare moments everyone would be comming together for something that wasnt siege or run.

Toon - Cerburus
Servor - many servors :) now call home to Govinda.

i joined this game around gch time..and was finally geared by the time tosh came around.. as s/r :)) old school haha.

But my most memorable moment i think atm, was the very first time we cleared tosh. I never ran endgame in an MMO before.. and didnt realize lol, how much time u needed to invest sometimes lol. We would start running at like 7-8 pm.. and run to 1-3 am every night...
We would scream and point fingers at each other, laugh, fall asleep while running, wipe after wipe after wipe after wipe.....

But man, the very first time we downed 6th.. and downed 7th right after... was the absolute most gratifying, and memorable moments. I literally jumped out of my chair with a big whoop! lmao That and i had servor first t11 Jennys' crossbow haha.

WTB strat heavy instances like tosh and gch again :))

Most Memorable Moment

Server: US - Palenque
Character Name: Trebz

The most memorable moment I had in Runes of Magic would have to be the Deep Sea Vermin in HoTo. Back when HoTo was actually hard and no one knew how the trash mob work. I volunteered to charge through and to my luck, I had just commited suicide. However, from that point on I learned never let the rogue go first

The most memorable and gratifying moment I had when I finally hit cap for the first time. I had begun playing as a p/k right before dwarves came out (72 cap) and finally hit lvl cap when it was 75. I wasn't particularly OP or anything back then and I considered myself (and still consider myself) a noob. Little did I know that in about a week the lvl cap was going to raise to 77 so I wouldn't be able to bask long in the glory of being lvl cap. ;)

One of most memorable moments was first PUG and FA run. Took group 2 hours to clear it... and we were all 20-30 level - not so well geared (I had 1 or 2 pieces of greens iirc :D) Never managed (Or cared) to get to end game, but had many nice moments, many of them thanks to friend and guildy - Rustux. :D

Most Memorable moment.:

One of MY most memorable moments, was playing on Palenque and finally catching up to other servers, in chapter 3. (Now falling behind again). I was in Benevolent, guild leader Kaelani, Friends with Vinzz from Valkyrie. The guild was slowly dieing, people were going to Rift. Mamnoony, (in game troll/friend) Told me about this guild, Notorious, said the guild leader ( katie) was super nice and i should join, she let me she's cool. Talked to her then joined, Felt right at home after a bit. My kind of goofy guild. CHapter 3 was probably one of my favorite times in this game, more players.. Back when scouts could pew pew and healers could spam GH and their healer bubble was a group immune and NOT a 60% damage reduction. This wasn't the reason for it being one of my highlights, however. Many of you might not know Mamnoony, but he was a leader. We had a lot of good players back in the day. Later we got a couple more players to join from Benevolent, LIke draden and Roxie. Roxie was a Pinnoy warrior who later went scout/warrior. We got a great player, Divizintah from Noctus Erus, things were coming together. However most people pugged RT back in the day, our server couldnt do anything. Even pug groups couldnt get past 6th boss, the tree. ( at this time i was in Holy source gear, and WA gear) So we practiced and practiced and for the life of us couldnt clear RT normal. So we pushed KT, Kawaks Tomb. As to where most players were focused on pushing RT first, our group pushed KT. for the speed upgrade for the desert bow. Our party normally consisted of Me, (healer) Arles (tank) and 4 dps. Scouts usually because that's what you needed, honestly. Mamnoony, Draden, Roxie, Divi, Korum were the usual ones who went. WE finally pushed and cleared KT. after tons of debt and dieing. A lot of the guild felt left out and useless at this time because we needed scouts. So what we did was unbind gear and give it to them, free of charge for guildies, and we kept some to sell as well to be able to unbind gear for guildies. Our scouts finally had desert bows. The speed increase helped a lot. we had s/w s/wd and s/r's. We could finally clear Rt normal. Then we pushed Bronze, realized we could burn through it and tried Dia, Dia was the hardest. We could clear 1-2 easy. the 3rd boss gave us lots of trouble and after 3rd we could clear the whole instance. Well 6th on dia gave us trouble too. We cleared it. I think we got a Tyda axe as our first drop... worthless. But not to guildies. The memories the fun of that isntance were the best and short lived. Being able to get guildies gear and gear up and be able to compete with other guilds in seige was priceless. Destroying Halls in seige was the best, he'd always complain that our scouts had pocket healers, but that's the way to do it. Seeing Tooeasy die was the best. Getting killed by Tooeasy not so much.

Our guildies felt worthless but we got them the gear they needed once we could farm, the Fury of the Defender of the Jungle was such a huge upgrade we could burn through the instance easy. Helping teach other guilds how to do it was fun, I taught Scarfury how to heal the 3rd boss in RT for Midnightassasins. Also the guild rivalries. Notorious vs. Sins.. good fun.

Just In my opinion it was one of the best times, the people, the fun, Which none of them play anymore. The guildies from Notorious back in chapter 3. But the memories regardless of game or not will be in my head forever.
For you to live or die is in my hands, In Gigi we trust.

My most memoriable moment was my first full FA run. We had a couple of lv 20ish and one or 2 near lv 30. The priest in the party thought his class was a dps and it took us awhile to convince him to heal us instead lol. We had a ton of fun figuring out how to play each of our classes in an instance, running like hell when tank drops dead and running around screaming heal me!!! when the boss was casting aoe's until we finally realized that aoes had a limited range, and we stayed back until the tank deemed it safe to return afterwards.

It was the most fun I've had in an instance because there wasn't' any worry over whether you were playing a viable class, there was no pressure over whether you were doing viable DPS or meet gear requirements or not, you didn't lose golden hammers when you died, and it was just a stress free environment with lots of laughter good fun.

When I first started playing this game I joined a guild at level 20. I was still learning the game, and a few days after joining the guild I noticed that most people had permanent mounts. I began working out how to purchase dias so I could buy a permanent mount and was receiving suggestions from guild members. The guild leader asked me which mount would I purchase and I told her the flame mount (399 dias) because of a variety of factors. A few minutes later I receive a gift in my mailbox, and the guild leader had purchased the mount for me! Me being a noob at the time thought she had just gifted me one she was buying for herself and asked if she had another mount for herself because I hadn't asked her for one nor was I asking for dias. I liked the fact that she just did that for a brand new guild member as if it was nothing and never expected anything in return. Since that day I've made sure to help out anyone needing stuff (gear, money, tier stones, etc.) because of her generous act. And to this day I still use this mount in honor of her.

Thanks Tularie!

So..many..ROM memories.

Talk about that event I have had in my sig regarding RT forever? nah
The day I maxed in s/w titles? nah
Go for that ROM video I can never get out of my head? nah
That one time...at band camp. Oops, wrong thread.. :P

Oh, I know..

Around level 70, I was able to coax two other players to go do a naked Forsaken Abbey run. What does that really mean? No armor, gear, weapons, pets, food at all. Just whatever cards, titles, and base skill levels your character had was allowed. It actually took a little while to get through and someone actually died along the way as well ( :D ). Was still a bunch of fun and certainly not a 'traditional' run.

This actually took me a lot of thinking to come up with one that really stood out, as I have had many great memories here!

My favorite memory of playing Runes of Magic is the player Zormach (and all his other names) and what he did for me throughout me gearing up and such! The first was he always told me to get to 70 cap (lvl cap at the time) so when I got there i shouted in guild chat and not a minute later two daggers, 1 t9 and 1 t6 statted showed up in my mail, a total surprise to me! A few months later at the lvl 75 cap I was buying my Aoth Salv. set and the person selling wanted 200 mil and I didn't have that type of gold, about 20 mil at the time, and Zorm whispered me telling me to ask him if he wanted a T11 to trade it with, so I did knowing that there was no arguing with Zormach, needless to say I got that Salv set with his help!

He taught me the workings of RoM and helped me out more than I could thank him for, and that not only sticks in my head as a RoM memory but also one of my real life memories as we still keep in touch today.

My favorite memory of RoM is simple. The first time I cleared FA back in early chapter 1. It took us so long at level to clear that place safely. I remember that we had to rotate the interrupts and silences on Ancalon so she wouldn't nuke the whole party. As a warrior/rogue (My first character class) I would back up to range and surprise attack to get my interrupt off.

Chapter 1 was the best.. just wanted to share that, don't care about winning.

Best moment of rom was back in Chapter 2 when I ran with Kanuunchou for the first time in Hoto. He was running though the splatty bugs, that one shot you, with such precision and grace-it was beautiful sight let me tell you- After watching him with such awe I thought to myself "i will show him how amazing I am and senpai will notice me" So I holy aura'ed and ran straight through and killed him on the way by :D :D :D :D :D

That was the moment I realized I won life!

So once upon a time, scouts were the OP flavor of the month class. Im sure none of you remember that. Anyways, I was still a rogue back then, ive always been a rogue. One day i bought this od cross bow and tiered it and went scout. And it was the worst thing in the world. My friend compared my rogue dps to my scout dps and determined that i was doing more dps on my r/s than my s/r and that was then told that i was the worst scout reni had ever seen and that i should swap back.. And thats the story of the onetime I tried to play a non rogue dps class.

I remember a time not too long ago when you needed an item at any level you could go to the auction house. Adding a third class was fun when you went from level 40 to 50 there was gear at every level. It wasn't end game gear but it was statted not with the state of the moment but well enough to help your character a lot. Now there is nothing below level 85.

But the most fun I ever had was listening to the comments on the bunny kills. When you would mysteriously die outside Dalinas in large groups trying to get the stats. What people would say was well worth the price of admission. Watching fully geared max level people run from the bunnies as they appeared was hilarious. It was a Monty Python moment.

First off, thank you for doing this!

My favorite moment was probably finally beating first boss DoD with the 2 other people in my guild Anarchy, Kesk and Gwyllian back when RT was the best instance. Was an absolutely amazing feeling, getting the strat down, and just working together as a team to down something we were sure we weren't ready for yet.
