Daily Login Bonus - FAQ

Let's have a FAQ thread about the upcoming Daily Login bonus.

Check first to see if the question is answered - if not, the question has been passed to Gameforge and I'm awaiting an answer.
If your question isn't here, ask your question and I'll try to answer it.

  • Do we need to log off & log in every day to get the gifts? or do we get them if we've stayed logged in?
    If you log in on Wednesday, and stay logged in until Saturday, and then log in on Sunday, you have 'logged in' on Wednesday and Sunday.

  • Will you have to log in before 24 hours later or will logging in the next day (from reset -> reset) be okay?
    When you collect the item one day, a 24-hour cooldown will trigger that will prevent you collecting the following days item until it is fully counted down. (Official answer)

  • When is this program going to start?
    I do not know. Most likely there will be further announcements from Gameforge over the coming days & weeks with more information than we currently have available.

  • Will the freebie be sent via mail or thru IS depot?
    Again, this is something that will likely be answered in future announcements, but I will forward the question.

  • If I log in with character X one day and character Y the next day, will the count be maintained for the 7-day bonus, or does the different character reset the count?
    From the accouncement: "The first character you log into the game with will receive a small gift – for the first login every single day."
    To me, this suggests that the count for 7 and 28 is account-wide and not just to a specific character - officially confirmed.

And, please, please, please make it an honest to god daily log in. not that must log in at least 1 second prior to your yesterdays log in or 'poof' counter resets.

If you log in on Wednesday, and stay logged in until Saturday, and then log in on Sunday, you have 'logged in' on Wednesday and Sunday.

2nd question: Will you have to log in before 24 hours later or will logging in the next day ( from reset -> reset ) be okay? ie, I log in right after getting home from work, but the next day traffic keeps me away for another half hour. Do I retain the accumulated time? or is it lost ( for being 30 minutes late )

I don't see why people are worried about having to relog, you'll more than likely crash at least once every 24 hour time period

I've seen people log in and go afk until next maintenance....just sayin, it does happen.


Whomever came up with the mechanics for that 24 hour timer should be taken behind the woodshed and beaten thoroughly. I log in every day, I am a loyal customer, I see no need to have to write down the time I log in everyday so I can make sure I log in at least 5 minutes earlier every day to prove my "loyalty". Like Ycavan above, I log in after work, I cannot control the traffic that day to guarantee that I get home 5 minutes earlier every day.

Who said anything about a 24-hour timer? I'd imagine it'll just work a bit like the Daily Quest reset, but I'll try to get clarification on that.

Login Bonuses are account based, not character. So you can login with 7 different characters for a week, and it would still count.

Hello,

24 hours countdown starts once you log in, collect something. When countdown is over, you can collect the next reward. Not before.

So in short, there will be a day that inevitably gets missed as that timer continues to push back when you can even get the daily login bonus.

Brilliant.

Why is there a need for a timer? It's a boolean value. "Did account get daily reward today in this specific timeframe?" (yes/no)
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Precisely. What a retarded method. Daily reward should be daily if purpose is to reward loyalty. As I stated earlier, someone needs to be taken behind woodshed.

You know who this rewards? The person with 100 accounts who does not play the game, but "plays" the game.

That's too advanced for our programmers in their internship. Just make the timer every 23.5 hrs or something... If someone is really dedicated they will get an extra item once a month+. Who cares.

Yea so lets have 5000 independent account based timers ticking every second and doing match checks against that on every login. That's efficient
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.

Then if you are on when the dailies reset pops, you would be reminded to close the client and restart.

Any idea when this will start? It's great to talk/complain about, but there's no point if there's no concrete date or anything. What would be more beneficial is if we could do a ballot of preferred, non-permanent items that people would like to see as a daily login reward.
