Class Popularity

Was having a conversation with a guild mate about what classes are played alot vs. ones that arent and why (whether its balance or how fun the class is, w/e) and we were kind of making a list based on what we see running around (this is based around lvl 100/x/x characters) and wanted second opinions but here it is, 1 being most played going up to least played...

Tanks:

1. Knight (Generally K/W, don't know if anything else is super playable)
2. Champion (Ch/P Off tanks generally?)
3. W/K, Wd/W (Have tanking capabilities but aren't seen)

DPS:

1. Scouts (S/W, S/WD, S/R)
2. Warriors (W/WD, W/M,W/S?)
3. Mages (M/W, M/P not sure if its good but see alot of it)
4. Wardens (Wd/W, Wd/S)
5. Rogues (R/M, R/S see alot of them but dont think they're any good compared to R/M)
6. Champion (Ch/R, Ch/M)
7. Warlock (Dont see alot of warlocks, dont think they're played alot, Don't think warlock can actually really be a dps class but i guess WL/Ch? maybe?)

Healers:

1. Druid (D/W, D/Wd?)
2. Priest (Only see P/K running around)

Support: (Not 100% on this one but)

1. Knight/Priest (see a decent amount of this)
2. Mage/WL - WL/Mage (Think this is best support combo but dont see alot of it, dont know if its played alot or not)

So Overall Class Popularity Ranking

1. Scout
2. Warrior
3. Mage
4. Warden
5. Rogue
6. Knight
7. Priest
8. Druid
9. Champion
10. Warlock

DISCLAIMER - I do not claim this is 100% right or factual, this was based off what we see and im posting here to get other opinions out of curiosity, if you have any insight on it or comments, questions, i appreciate you helping us out, thanks RoM Team, see you in game <3

Don't forget Champ/Mage which I will put in the DPS category, also have some tanking capability, but is not really used for that.

As for Warlock it seems you can't go anywhere without tripping over a Wl/M or M/Wl, maybe cause they are so short you missed them, or, it may just be everyone has one as an alt to take on instances.

The reason you see a lot of M/P well, for one, a long time ago they were the top class combo, that and they are still fun to play at the low levels.

Another one you missed is W/M, and its flip side M/W.
Govinda P/W/K/M 100x4 :pump:
Wl/R/M/Ch 100x4 :borg:
Wd/W/S 100/100/100
W/M 100/100 Glass Cannon: oh gawd, not again :pinch: ... and numerous others Semi-retired :pillepalle:

I know Wl/m and m/wl are necessary in every group, i just dont see a ton of them running around outside of that or in any other parts of the game, but thats probably because they're all alts, but do you think everything else was pretty close? XD

You have to be careful with warriors and wardens. Many elven characters play both classes, so just because an INDIVIDUAL player is running around as warrior doesn't mean they like it more than warden or vice versa. I'd also like to note that this list does not reflect the "best" classes for current content, just what people want to play.

What's with the question mark beside warrior/scout? Its highest burst damage warrior.

I'm surprised to see mages above rogues on your list...I guess maybe mage itself is fun to play hence the popularity? Also surprised to not see m/wd there.

Remember that if all your data was collected from varanas, it cuold be slightly skewed. Some players don't go to varanas, or others may have been running an instance while you were collecting data.
