i'd talk about all the multitude of ways to get out of stun/root/fear, as many people i face go "my (insert stun/root/fear) didn't effect you!!! HAXX!!!" when i took precautions to limit/dispell the effects of such debuffs...
I though i mention something about this in the "cleanse and usable equipment" section. Perhaps I should edit that section to make it more clear if someone is already missing it. EDIT: changed the section header and added in a little more information.

Wait no. Im totally grumpy about scrolls and torandos. Not that im saying people hack, but i pereferd it when you could beat down a gate with players, and atleast the opponent had a chance to out heal the damage. Scrolls just wipe things out.

Also not cool with not having crystal extractors anymore becaue now there is no resonable way to silence a guild full of mages. I want my lightning towers back plz.
There are ways to significantly increase healing done on gates (d/wd briar shield), ways to reduce dmg done to gates including dmg received from scrolls (mother earth's protection, heroic guard (?)), hp shields that can be placed on gates (high-energy barrier c/m), and even 5s magic immunes (warlock defense net). There are TONS of ways to protect against scrolls, but they require the right timing to be used. Perhaps I'll mention this somewhere.

EDIT: added the above as a new section in the second main post.

Crystal extractors are broken, but this thread is not the right place to complain about that.

I think all the people writing here have been called out on hacks or whatever, loll. It happened to me last week just because i would die with 6 of them on my back, just because i'm a K/S doesn't mean i can't kick arse in siege loll. Most of the times i do except when Cloak is there lolll, he gets me everytime hahahaha. Against TSF i had some of the most memorable sieges, lots of fun and i died a lot ;-) BUT IT WAS FUN!!!!


Always a blast zid lol. I've got a lot of good wars with you guys filed away. I could try and upload them if requested.

I know my siggy doesn't show my name/guild affiliation but I'm sure people know me by now. If I took the time to fix my sig then there would be no issue.

But im getting off topic so I'll put my phone down and get back to work lol.

Well when i play my endgame mage, i spam Thunderstorm as i go out the castle to get rogues or illusions, i cast it as i go along and not just in front of me, left and right. It's called playing it smart. As a mage you get one shot by rogues usually, so play smart and stay alive, i wish i could play it like Cloak, now that is a mage who knows how to play his class.

Heddin before doing scrolls, i look up to see at their walls if anyones there, i look at the trees left and right, if the other team is good, they have tactics too, you are not playing a computer opponent, humans tend to adapt and get smarter about stuff. Tell your rogues to be patient and take their sweet time, not rush in ;-).

Can't thank you enough for this Xamd, I'm linking this for everyone in guild to read, as long time player know this stuff, but we actually got new players! Not new to guild, but really new...was so exciting, lol! Great siege tonight, btw, you tanky bugger, and love you forever for doing this post so I don't have to.

I can kind of see how mage can spam ts with macro yeah, but 2 ppl who mostly did it are k/m (think it was mage, def k) and r/m. Both don't exactly have spamable area dam with 200 range ala ts.
Thanks for all the comments, I prob will just chill on top next time we face that guild, will make them feel op I am sure :) I still feel there is some kind of program at work, so rogues beware xD

Sad truth it seems best sieges were at 1k-2k brackets, no automated combat/no autotarget/no strange stuff - why cant ppl keep it clean when higher? :( points don't mean anything, why not just have fun, this is what game is about and not to win siege using questionable means. Ok rant over xD

Enjoy pvp/pve, this game is awesome despite some shortcomings!

Good sw to you aas well ladydeth. Tried getting ahold of you to ask about your missing players, but alas this is off topic here.

In regards to your post heddin, after realising you're in Bteam, I believe I know some of the players and guild in question as I happened to speak with shinryuuh about similar things. My best recommendation is record encounters with these players (not the entire siege, just when you're rogues are gathering and are likely to mysteriously get aoe'd by a non-scout). Write down names, collect information from other guilds about the ones you are questioning and see if any patterns emerge, but try to keep it from becoming a witch hunt. The next step would be to mass submit support tickets to get the players in question and guild looked into, and providing some video evidence would be good. Cheaters only truly win when even the players who they cheat AGAINST give up trying to rectify the problem. If you can't convince support that they cheat, try convincing the community instead, and see what results.

EDIT: Still welcoming ideas to add/change here. Seems like this is slowing down so unless more ideas come I'll have to start writing my next essa--er form post.

Actually, if it was R/M, that makes sense. R/M does have a ranged (Aoe I believe) that works very similar to T-storm, and I think BB has a macro that allows it to only cast if there is a target there to hit. No idea about K/M.

I am not knowledgeable in regards to these items. All I know about is the 30min cd "dismount" item whose name I cannot recall. If someone wants to post information on them, I can add them in.

Maybe im a Noob, I understand the stacking of speed buffs, etc and herold skill to move fast, assult time / battle time scrolls, thats no problem as all of those skills have a cooldown and a limited time, but i have seen several guilds that are in the process of killing the guard on the A tower before your gale and mount can get out of the castle. If thats not enough sometimes by the time you make it to the b side mid tower they will meet you there. There are some people you can watch in siege and they never slow down. They are fast before the herold buff, longer than the pots last and yet can still outrun a mount and gale at any time during siege even if they are in it solo. So this basically means they will fly across any trap you have, you wont be able to hit them as they run past you due to minor bits of server lag. Strangly enough maybe its a client glitch (i do have rom loaded onto at least 7 computers) , but when i kill fots and eyes they take 3-4 seconds to stop working and disappear, when they hit them they are just gone. So now lets combine this with the people using auto comabat, you know the ones that can stop attacking the person in front of them and one shot the rogue that just came out of hide behind them with an attack that only hits one person (non aoe etc) and then go right back into combat with the first person in a matter of a split second (something that is not really humanly possible) and also not manage to target any other person near them? One of my favorites lately has to be the mages that seem to not see gates or walls since they can t-storm your castle buildings and destroy them while outside the wall. Someday maybe they will even fix the gate heals so that every gate doesn't need a d/wd casting briar on it in order to have a chance at healing it (seems like it meets the criteria of using an exploit as i'm sure that the use of it on gates was never intentional)..However even with all these thing's a good siege against people that actually use their own skills and not have everything macro'd/DIYCE/etc is still a fun way to waste an hour. If i were to try and improve it i would do away with some of the speed buffs so that the traps could do their job (and make it so traps died based on the number of hits), Also i would slow down the LUA scripting for addins to one line a second during siege so that we could see some real skill in playing, not programming and maybe after that we could really see who are the hackers and who is really skilled.

o.o Holy text wall indeed...although the main topic isn't much better, but I used the enter key a few times :)

In regards to those players, at no point have I ever said "hacks don't exist". Keep in mind some class have some form of run/speed buff (w/r, wardens can get 7% from nature crystal). In regards being on one side literally at the start of siege, there's no rational explanaition to that aside from "they got in earlier then you and have lots of speed mount pots".

Again, at no point do I claim hacks/cheats/glitches aren't used. If you encounter things often as you describe, write down player/guild names, collect information from other players to see if they observe the same "cheaters" then video them. Submitting support tickets en masse will hopefully, at the very least, get them investigated. While suport doesn't have the greatest record in dealing with stuff like this, they are guaranteed to do nothing if you don't submit anything.

It would be nice if I could update information on gates and healing tomorrow too ("siege war optimization" seems vague but might have some nice surprises").

In regards to the using macros/scripts/diyce, not everyone needs to use it to target players -- there are macros for targetting players only. Use that macro, attack the rogue you mention, use it again to target the previous player...simple. While you may not "like" something, this isn't the place to complain about that -- go find one of the13251235 suggestion threads or siege war change threads and post it there.

As for skill, you're just pressing buttons. How skillful do you want players to get? Don't get me wrong there is some pedigree of skill in here but if you complain about that go play some games like gw2 where you can literally dodge player attacks or some shooter games where you actually "aim" all of your skills. And it is YOUR choice whether you use macros/addons to make gameplay easier as they can be used by anyone -- you're the one holding back yourself from maximizing efficiency in an open interface game.

Has tornado position been changed? Herald is standing at the same location to summon tornado as before, but since Sarlo patch, our Tornado only hits for 20% damage.

And boo, big nerf for scrolls =/
I'll miss the good old times of 55% damage on Int scrolls...

Not sure about tornado. Last I used it it was fine, but tonight we got interrupted 3 or 4 times prompting my edits. I doubt it was changed, but confirmation will have to wait until we figure out how to prevent electric tower interrupts or come from someone else.

The scroll change makes things REALLY interesting now though. Its quite difficult to take down enemy gates now since you need 1 tornado + MINIMUM 1 scroll assuming perfect conditions (or the opportunity to do 10% hp through sheer attacking it). When d/wds and other classes come into play, or the herald gets interrupted, it becomes hard, if not impossible, to down gates. Of course the surer way is get 10 scrolls and hope they don't heal, but that requires 3k merits, not soemthing you can do in the first 10min of siege.

Tornado has not changed. Since Sarlo was introduced with the changed to the scrolls, the tornado for us still does 80% damage on the gates.
