That's weird. We tornado'd an opponent's gate last siege, with no healers or anybody on the opponent's gates at the time, and only 20% damage from Tornado.

Opponent tornado's our gates a few days ago, and it was still 80% damage on our gates, so not sure why its not working for us... :(

I can confirm that a well placed tornado can still deal 80% damage to a gate, just did one a couple nights ago, it's possible it was changed very recently though, have to try it again tonight. This thread is fantastic, every time I play either my knight or my rogue, I'm aaallwaaaays called a speed hacker. I'd recommend putting this thread link into a macro for siege that you can link into chat if a guild is crying hacks. Nothing worse than a guild tarnishing your reputation just because they don't know their facts. Many thanks for this mate!

Glitchy Guild Castle.

Well today We had a SW against DRIVEN(Artemis) guild and they have a Sweet Castle Skin although the players were screaming hacking, (crying wolf), thing is the castle skin they have is Extremely Glitchy. I surpised attacked a Player and right when I was Charging up on them they went back inside there castle keep, and my player got stuck in the wall I couldn't move at all. So for all Warriors out there on the game be careful when you use the Surpise attack to knock down a player because if they are near a castle gate and run back in the moment you charge up to them you to might get stuck in a wall. :missilelauncher:

I think its for most solid objects in the game. I was doing guild Castle PvP with a few guildies a while ago, and one of my warrior guildies charged me while I rounded a corner and ran behind the library. He ended up getting stuck in the library :D

My guild faced off against a guild recently that seemed to have impenetrable invisibility.

We were at their end of their B bridge setting up several eyes, FoT's, Lightning Towers, Flame Towers, Invis Towers, and a couple of heavy hitting mages with Thunderstorm. We would see the person go invis with the hide animation with no speed buffs (they were walking slow when they walked up to us) as rogues at the top of the hill and then emerge on the other end of the bridge, walking through Mage's Thunderstorming (we could see them take damage while walking from it), eyes going off, I was Whirlwind Shielding, and nothing would knock them out. They would do this faster than the invis pot cooldown, because we would kill them while in hide and they would be back doing it less than 30 seconds later. The invis pot cooldown, as far as I can remember, is 2 minutes. How were they able to do this in 30 second rotations? They were Rogue/Scout or Rogue/Mage and as far as I know, these classes don't have an 'avoid everything' hide, unless I'm missing something?

As far as I know, rogues don't get kicked from hide if they use escape. Eyes, towers will not effect them, and aoe's will damage them, but will not remove them from hide.

r/m has a 8 sec hide on a 10 sec CD following a dodge...don't know how it works or anything, but darwec was talking about it sometime...

also, escape is a very possible option as well...
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

mages should stack dex. word.

there's one other possible, but unlikely explanaition -- lag.

I've lagged at times (such as tonight's siege war), such that I see a rune disk but no player on it. While I first thought, "hey this must be some glitched rogue" it turns out it was a friendly mage that just didn't load fully. Similar things have happened without mounts being involved, but its easier to notice with mounts then it is otherwise, since you are likely to initially think it was invisibility of some sort rather then lag when no mount is present.

Awesome post, first time i've read it. It fits perfectly for all the things that happens and are wrongly attached as hacking.

This post should be glowing with red LEDS around it and a big arrow, so everyone would read it. Gotta make a few guildies check this one too. Left a guild for that reason, way too much hack acusing with no reason.

and for the rogue getting AoE damaged and not coming out of hide, yeah, probably escape. Escape is Pro =).

Debating if I should adress the recent rock guardian xform potion shenanigens or not here. I don't think there's much point in doing so since people that read the forums regularly probably know of it already, and those that don't will most likely not even notice the addition....

It could have been due to invis towers. When a player is under an invis tower they go invis, but their mount does not. When you leave the invis tower you remain invis for a good few seconds, and if you are on a mount you can travel quite a distance while remaining invisible (aka, mount but no player on it).

I'm curious what would cause a player to port to about 4-5 locations surrounding a player and constantly look like they are charging in and out from the person they are attacking from 4-5 angles. Yes a speed macro explains moving really fast to catch a person but it does not explain the incredible amount of position inconsistency. This happens even without seeing them buff a speed macro and with nothing in the area that would stun/root causing them to get ported backwards.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

Friday, November 8th 2013, 12:05pm

Yeah, if you are mounted in an invis tower, your mount is still visible, like Cammo said.

For the porting, there's one thing i can think of. You don't only rubberband when you get rooted, but when you kill defenses, and i think ballons too. If i'm not mistaken, there are other causes for rubberbanding. Maybe combination of server lag and internet lag, making him appear near the target every time he attacks, and when he gets attacked, goes back to it's original place? Never seem it happening, more than 1 or 2 times, so idk.

In seige last night, we were up against a guild with a fully upgraded castle and lvl VII buildings. I was wandering around outside their walls and decided to take down one of the outside buildings. Normally I hit buildings with my spammable attack for about 10% per hit. But this lvl VII drillgrounds I was only hitting for 1% and it would automatically regenerate back to 100%. Is there some seige buff or something or is it a function of the level of the building? I just have never seen anything like it before. And, no there were no members of the opponent standing around healing it or anything I could see.

I while ago there was a bug where whenever you attacked the drill ground, it would heal the drill ground instead for the damage that it was supposed to take. I guess they haven't fixed it yet.

This can also happen if the opponent is under the effect of illusion tower. u can't c the person but u can clearly c the rune disk/other mounts moving. ofc it wasn't the case with u since u said it was friendly as u can c friendly ppl in hide in sw.

You have to get on top of the drill ground, double click it to open a dialog window. The window will read something like "you are no a member of this guild" and will only give you the option to leave conversation. Once you close the window, the drill ground can be attacked.

So the other night we faced Mizetto's guild. All is good there, we always love a challenge in siege. Mizetto suggested we come here to do some reading. So I'm here. Well there is a lot to read and i'm not sure if I missed the part that explained the Ch/m skill Elemental rampage, i believe, and how one can use it to hit a p/k with 330def and 500khp for 790k with an already 50percent automatic siege reduction, while not in shield form and not loosing half their hp and not being stuck for 12seconds. If there is a way out of this we would all love to learn and obtain a greater understanding and thus for making siege a more fun place to play and less stressful, brought on by confusion and misunderstandings. I'm asking for informative answers, please if you feel the need to be little or make one feel stupid for not having all the knowledge in the world please just don't reply. There is a great deal to learn and retain in this game and all of that takes time and a lot of learning errors. Thank you in advance for those of you who can help give us all a better understanding.

There's only 1 thing that can be said about Elemental Rampage - its ridiculous. even in shield form, its still hits over 3 times the damage of Flame, and with full buffs/CD's, its one of the few skills that can hit players for nearly 1 million damage in PvP.

Any transform pot will cover over shield form, so they will not appear in shield form, but actually are. Roots can be removed by PvP gloves, and hp can easily be topped up by heals/Soul Source (saw a healer in siege heal someone up by 360k HP in 1.5 seconds... dam OP priests.). Not sure if ER consumes half current HP or half of full HP. If the latter, I can imagine them actually killing themselves with the skill, and go back to full HP from phoenix, or one of the champ skills that does the exact same as phoenix.

While I cannot see your combat log, a possible explanation is that the skill used was not Elemental rampage, but instead the new champion set skill Clone Conversion.

Clone conversion (no cost): intanlty cancels shield for and cuases 700% main hand weapon damage to surrounding targets. Increaess casters'a tatack by 20% and reduces damage taken by 20% for 15seconds. Puts shield form into cooldown state for 6 seconds.

With enough cooldowns running (strong stim, high-energy barrier from c/m, possible instruments) I can see this skill htiting for insanely high amounts of damage, without the hp cost and root effect from elemental explosion.

Assuming it was indeed elemental rampage .....

Elemental rampage just says it deals "high damage" to targets -- i've heard it has hit for well over 1m on players before so it sounds like A) it calculates dmg to players the same way dmg vs monsters is calculated or B) the dmg is just too high on the skill itself (not a hack, simply unbalanced). Continuing on...

A possible second explanation is perhaps immunites can prevent the hp cost? I tried to serenstum and candy through the dmg but neither worked but maybe fearless does. Rune Growth (damage reduction) while in shield form didn't change the hp cost either. The other explanation could simply be "he was healed to full hp right after using it via soul source or some other heal".

I was testing on ch/wl and was not able to use the c/wl 60 elite (50% hp cost and the 12s root, just like c/m) without being in shield form. Unless there is some bug/glitch that is possible that I don't know of, you cannot use the champion 60 elites (elemental rampage included) without shield form on. Perhaps the c/m was either using a transformation potion -- you can use transformation potison while in shield form to "not look like a giant robot" but still have the shield form buff.

As for not getting rooted, I have no way to verify (because my champ doesn't have them) but perhaps honor gloves can remove the root? It isn't classified as a "harmful effect" so priests can't cleanse it, but honor gloves can remove quite a few things. I know the champion skill "overrule" wasn't able to remove the root. Aside from pvp gloves or fearless preventing/removing the roots, the only thing I can think of is "he used the aoe skill and 1 target who was in range of the skill did not take dmg due to immune or being a pet that takes no aoe dmg -- the game saw this and counted elemental rampage as having done 0 dmg (despite hitting other players) and did not properly provide the rooting effect".

The only way to know for sure is if the champion in question posts what happened from his perspective -- perhaps he did get rooted and you just didn't notice or something else that I didn't think of was used.

**Edit: as per ruisen post, you MUST have > 50% hp to use the skills, as they consume 50% of max hp. Even with remodeled body and/or phoenix on, you cannot cast the skills without more then 50% hp so unless you get hit right after, the skills themselves will not trigger your phoenix.
