Wow thank you both for the detailed explanations! Would love to get the gloves verified for the rooting of Elemental Rampage. I went back and looked at the screen shot and it was that skill in the combat log :D. would be good to verify if the hp loss is half of what u have, or half of your total hp too, but that would explain the return to full health. It was a one on one fight, i had just hit the bridge and watched it all go down ^^ and naturally thought, what the heck, then saw the screen shot and thought what the heck. So came here for further understanding. I will most definitely be passing this on.

I already edited my previous post, hp loss is half of max hp. You MUST have >50% hp to cast the skill, and regardless of having phoenix redemption on or remodeled body, you cannot use the skill with less then 50% hp. However, if he had 51%, cast the skill, and died to a DoT, then pheonix or remodeled body would trigger, restoring full hp.

In the case that phoenix went off (again no way for me to verify) the root should be removed. I know from experience in bethomia that debuffs get removed when phoenixes go off, although I am unsure if ALL debuffs (sans sw debuff) are removed.

I don't know of anyway to avoid the root of Elemental Rampage, but its root isn't like shadow prison you can keep attacking, just unable to move from the spot you are rooted in. I did also lose 50% hp every time, but I had a healer with me who healed me up.

I had always assumed that these 2 were very obvious, but I was proven wrong tonight:

1. Candy is not the only immune in this game. There are several other immune skills available to many classes. Holy Aura (Any priest primary or secondary), HoTo (dam OP Wardens), and a K/W AoE immune comes to mind.

2. Scout killing a rogue is not a hax. No, really! There actually is no law of physics that prevent this from happening.

But... rogues aren't supposed to die! No class should be good enough that they can take down a rogue. A nerf is needed on the scout then!

Seriously, one of the biggest problem is that people are not aware of all the buffs, spells, etc. that can be obtained from the guild castle. Every person in a guild should take time to go around their castle and familiarize themselves with what they have available.

Stuns and Using Skills While Stunned:

Some stuns and other effects will prevent players from activating new actions, but not all "interrupt" current actions. For example, if a mage is casting Flame, and a warden banishes said mage, the warden will still get hit by flame since banish does not interupt. However, the mage will be helpless afterwards. Some such skills that DO NOT interrupt are:

Savage Whirlwind (with w/wd 70 elite) -- don't rely on it to interrupt heals or mage casts.
Banish
w/k Throw shield (lvl 70 elite bullseye makes it a non-interrupting stun)

Also, some skills/items can be used while stunned. Warden/warrior Immortal Power (which makes you immune to the next 3 pieces of damage) can be used while stunned or shadow prisoned. So too can the set skill Undefeatable king from warriors, and Escape from rogues. Stuns do not 100% prevent actions.

Full HP Restoration:
There are a number of items and skills that can fully restore a player's hp to full. The first one that most players are aware of is Soul Source from priests, but it is not the only one. The d/wd elite Gift Pulse can restore up to 90% hp instantly. The herald skill Raise Morale puts a guild wide buff that fully restores player HP once per second for 5 seconds. Finally, items handed out by GM's during special events called Universal Potions instantly restore full hp/rage/mana/focus/energy.

Also, some classes like w/r and Champions, have skills that resture full hp upon death. Essentially they are skills that do the same/similar to Phoenix Redemptions. In the case of champions, it is a blue buff called Remodeled Body usable only while in shield form. It only lasts 8 seconds, so just wait for it to end, THEN kill the champion. If you drop his hp to 0 while it is active, he WILL get full hp again and you'll have to start over. Remodeled Body has a 5min cooldown.

There are also some rare/old item shop items called Sacred Phoenixes. These are phoenix redemptions that don't come with that "10 min reuse time". In other words, if someone wants to throw a whole sht pile of dias at you, they can be close to immortal.

Stupidly High Damage:
Yes, it is possible for someone to hit you for 500k, or even 5million damage without hacking. The 2 classes in siege that I know of that have the title "hardest single hit" are knight/mage and champion/mage. In seige war, knight/mages can use their cooldowns and smack a priest/knight for 700k damage. It happens. It is NOT a hack, just abilities that are way over powered in pvp. Champion/Mage skill Elemental rampage DOES hit players for millions of damage. Again, it is not a hack, that is how the skills are supposed to work. As annoying as it is getting 1 shot for 3x your hp, it doesn't mean the enemy team is hacking, it just means they bring some really strong classes to siege.

Constant Missing on Enemies:
It is well known that you can miss on npcs. You can also miss on enemy siege buildings. So why is it, that when you miss players consecutively, some players assume it is a "hack"? If you constantly miss someone you should ask yourself "why am I missing" first. And you're missing because you have low weapon skill. Your WEAPON LEVEL SKILL affects the number of misses among other things. If you recently made a m/wd or a r/m, and wonder why your flame spams miss all the time....go smack some afk monsters to level your staff skill and try again. Misses themselves aren't hacks, and if they happen a lot it is a result of a lack of diligence (or time if your character is new) to improve your character. And don't make a mistake here -- Misses are not the same as dodge, which are not the same as resist, which are different from immune, which are different from absorb...Miss also appears on things like gates when you try to put a dot skill on them. I'm not sure if this is possible on players -- that is a miss appearing because the player is immune to a skill effect and it registers as a "miss" instead of immune or fizzles without effect -- but it might be possible.

OK, a question then

We had a gate that was healed by our main healer getting zero heals. Like none. Not reduced, no heals at all. We would watch debuffs on it and it had defense reduction and heal reduction (p/r Infectious wounds), but nothing that we saw that explains zero heals.

Any clue what does that - and without debuff showing up on gate?

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

---Skills can be cast on gates that increase/decrease healing done. Just because you tornado/scroll a gate doesn't mean its going to die if a d/wd or something is healing it.

FYI on this - The Elite Skill from Knight/Priest Holy Protection (Increases Defense and Magic Defense by 25% and aggro effects) WORKS on gates. Lasts for 15 minutes. If you have a K/P, it might be beneficial to have them use it on all your gates every 15 minutes. I DO NOT believe it effects the damage inflicted by Tornado or scrolls, but if you have some enemies at your gate (or flames/electrics) and they feel like DPS'ing it down, using Holy Protection will increase the defense of the gate enough to allow you to assemble your top notch healers to get it healed back up. I've not been able to test/try it on installations (Processing Factories, Forges, Throne, etc.) but I would assume it works too. Also works on guards. Make sure you cast it on your Honor Guard.

Gates have a hidden, but inherent, healing reduction on them already. It is why you heal so low on gates, and why druid warden briar shield increases healing by a facter much greater then 1.5x. You go from -90% healing done to -50% healing done, that's 5x stronger heals (0.1 vs 0.5). ***these numbers are totally made up but the general concept remains unchanged***

For the same reason, a small decrease in healing done, provided by infectious wound, results in 0 healing.

Thanks, Lemon and Xamd. Seems like a questionable design to me to add natural debuff and hidden debuff on gates that way, but at least it sounds like it is known what caused it. Never seen it before, I don't think... P/R is one of rarer priest builds, so never seen that debuff used, except by that one Palenque guild in our bracket.

There are some more common classes that have -healing reductions, namely k/w.

Another is d/r.

There are also some player skills that induce hidden buffs. There's one other I can't think of atm, but the one that comes to mind is Warrior/warden skill Awakening of the wild (don't confuse it with d/warrior skill...). It forces your crit rate to 100000% (no that is not a typo) and will permanently stay there until you attack something, even if the the 10s buff runs out and you have no visible buffs.

I have a question about something I have never seen before in siege.

Last night (04/01; yeah, I know it was April Fools' Day), OBG was paired against a Govinda guild. Now, I can't name names, but this is one of two guilds on Govinda with almost exactly the same name.

Anyway, we were approximately 3-4 minutes into siege, we were getting our butts handed to us by 5 or 6 extremely OP players, and this guild acquires Herald. But there was absolutely no announcement in the chat log that "so and so" of "[insert guild name here]" became Herald. None, Nada. Nit. Zilch. Zippo. No announcement at all. The first inkling that we had was seeing them run around with Thunder Force in effect.

This was verified to me by my guildies. Not one of them had the Herald announcement in their general chat log.

We decided to sit on top of the castle when it became obvious that we were so completely overmatched. It only took about 10 more minutes for the Siege to be over.

My question is:

1. Does the acquisition of Herald ALWAYS get announced in general chat and 2.) does anyone know of a hack or cheat that gives Herald without actually needing to gather the required 1000 merits?

I'd rather not have possible hacks and cheats discussed publicly (forum rules and such), so if you have information regarding the second part of my question, please PM me instead.

Thanks in advance.

It is very common for the game not to announce herald. I only see that work 50% of the time anymore.

Yep, what he said. With someone farming the middle balloons and clearing the three guard towers you should have enough to get Herald very quickly. I know I have announced to guild that ok, they cleared the last tower they should be getting herald soon and watch for the announcement, but no announcement but can see their herald coming across bridge. And, that is when i was specifically watching for the announcement.
Govinda P/W/K/M 100x4 :pump:

Wd/W/S 100/100/100

After the last huge 350MB maintenance I've not seen an announcement for herald since, either from our team or mine. Seems to be commonplace for our guild as a whole.

Camagic, I don't' believe this has been deemed an exploit really. The are a growing number of classes that can also fire skills through the gates. You can thank the new elites mostly for that. But I cannot recall ever seeing the game say the GATE is a barrier nothing can cross unless down. If placed towers can shoot through gate that tells me its part of the design. I don't think a well geared healer would really worry about a warden pet all that much anyway.

That was what I thought but supposedly 3 wardens got banned in palenque for do that. We need clarification about this
