[Statement] Patch 4.0.5 & Global Cooldown

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen of the Runes of Magic Community,

Recently we patched the servers with the latest update, 4.0.5 – Souls of the Past, featuring a host of new content for you to dig into, such as the “Tomb of the Seven Heroes” for groups and raids, plus the increased level cap which has been raised to 70.

Looking at the features and the content that's been added, it's clear to us that we want to deliver you the best possible experience, making Taborea a place to love filled with new experiences and adventure. It’s always our goal to bring you an enjoyable slice of virtual reality.

But sometimes even the best idea can backfire, which recently happened with the Global Cooldown implementation. The intention was simple: bringing more tactical gameplay into Runes of Magic, instead of pummeling the keyboard until it keys start popping out of its shell.

After having received a wave of feedback on this topic from all of our communities across the globe, we – that is Game Improvement, Community Management and Production - have sat around a table and started discussing possible changes.

At this point we’re still engaged in discussion and it’s still a bit too early to say what our next step will be. However, I can assure you that you've all been heard and we’re treating this topic very seriously.

Until we’ve come up with a suitable solution and the required next steps to follow, please do try to enjoy the many other aspects and gameplay features of Runes of Magic. It’s what I plan to do, playing a Mage/Druid myself.

Yours truly,

Mike “Silberfuchs” Kiefer
