Modern Technology or Dark Magic?

Only a few weeks remain until the anxiously anticipated release of Fires of Shadowforge, the fifth chapter of the Fantasy MMORPG Runes of Magic. Now we’re providing details on the two new classes, the Champion and the Warlock, and their special abilities.
Like the Warlock, the Champion class will only be available to the Dwarves. One of the unique abilities of this class is its capacity to transform into a Runic Robot . This form allows for additional devastating magic and attacks that are particularly useful in melee combat, making the Champion very effective at soaking up damage.
With access to the Dwarves’ ancient blacksmithing skills, the Champion has the potential to create and equip powerful weapons and armour. Armaments embedded with runes offer nearly impenetrable protection without forfeiting mobility. Long familiarity with the forge hammer has made the Champion’s hands into efficient instruments of creation and destruction. This barbaric combination of strength and swiftness fortifies their reputation as steel demons of the battlefield, and makes a Champion the ideal tank and attack class. Their broad variety of in-game capabilities will be a pleasure for veteran gamers.
In contrast, the Warlock’s fighting style is characterised by long-range attacks and sapping enemy strength. Through exhaustive experimentation with the dark magic of the Shadowforge Dwarves, this class has developed techniques for harnessing spiritual energy in order to become powerful spellcasters. With this mystical power, Warlocks are capable of both tearing enemies to pieces and helping allies in need. In direct combat, the Warlock can thus be played as a support class or an additional damage dealer.

Hmm although I am very much against the dirty nasty smelly Dwarfs, I may roll one just to try out the warlock class. I was a Warlock in WoW and loved it. So I might change my mind on the Dwarfs cleanliness (not likely though).

So I am a little confused.

The promo art shows these guys having blue skin, but the screenshots from in-game and on the chapter v facebook site show them having the generic skin tones already in game.

Is blue skin not going to be an option for these guys?

I'm guessing that they will have the generic skin tone, in addition to slightly blue or gray skin tones, much like the current race have now, only darker.

So what are the allowed classes of Dwarves, other than Champion and Warlock?

No Scouts, cause Dwarves don't swing that way.

Cool ideas... but what incentive do we get to drop our current toons start all over for another race and dump another rediculous amount of money to get back to end-game? I think people tend to forget the money and time put into their current end-game toons.. I don't care how good the classes are it's not worth putting all that money into again.

That's odd...so they are replacing two melee classes (Knight and Scout) with 1 melee class and 1 spell casting class? I've never really thought of Dwarves as spell casters...lol.

Technically, they are replacing a melee class and a ranged dps class with one melee class and one ranged dps class. Just like with the Elves and Humans, the knight and priest (melee/tank and healer) were replaced by the warden and druid (melee/arguable tank and healer).

Dwarven priests are fairly common and fit the dwarven archetype. Dwarven archers not quite so much.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

"Hey Knarf! How do you pull this string thing & not break it?"
"Wha??? That's my back scratcher!"

Yeah, they aren't very agile traditionally. They are however are known for guns, explosives, mechanical items that are point and shoot. I'm surprised they didn't finally give the "Guns" skill some use by handing dwarves guns. That would have been a nice addition. Have guns with different effects, like bows and xbows for scouts. The bow equiv could be a rapid fire weapon, the slow would be a shoulder cannon lol. I'd like to see a dwarven pet class that uses robots as pets for different effects.

interesting view but shoulder cannon why not short ranged guns and long ranged guns (short= rapid / long=slower) but yes dwarfs are inventors for the most part note as they put it "Long familiarity with the forge hammer has made the Champion’s hands into efficient instruments of creation and destruction" makes me think hmmm with this new chapter will weapons and armor the dwarfs make be on par or better then current weapons like a shint. i hope guns are introduced because i'm tired of seeing a gun skill i cant lvl lol

That's a good idea too.

For the Dwarf pet class, maybe some deployable turret types with a duration like the fire pet for M/S or D/Wd 50 elite that does things for the group like buff heal points received from heals, defense, offense, etc. That class would be invited to groups for sure. The coding is fairly simple as well since they have the D/Wd lvl 50 elite that is "deployable" and has a 40 second effect they can take coding from.

Mages shouldn't be a part of the Dwarf class IMHO. It is so foreign to them in nearly all other lore.

Come to think of it, I wonder why they didn't make a Dwarf bard type. Like a tribal drummer with Aura effects?

But nooo, they added ONE MORE TANK TYPE AMONG THE DOZENS WE ALREADY HAVE INSTEAD. lol.

AND they allowed Dwarven priests instead. How cheap.
Ithiriz(Osha M/R/W 50/30/25), Saerimuus (Osha Wd/D 12/1), and some other Elf, Osha D/S 13/10, not to mention a few random characters on random servers that I made but that you probably won't ever see.

Are they gonna add new quest zones for 60+? Am I still stuck doing butterflies for my secondary class?
