Gameforge goes Berlin

Dear Community.

After two years full of intensive cooperation, Gameforge and Frogster have successfully established cross-locational structures between their Berlin and Karlsruhe offices in almost all areas. This has been proven to be a very good basis for our common success! Hence, we are taking the next step of the integration of Frogster into the Gameforge Group. The Frogster Interactive Pictures AG will be renamed to “Gameforge Berlin AG” according to a decision of its shareholders at their annual meeting today. The Frogster Online Gaming GmbH, which carries out Frogster’s operations in Europe, will simultaneously be fully integrated into “Gameforge Berlin AG” through a merger. Frogster America Inc. and Frogster Pacific GmbH will be renamed to Gameforge America Inc. and Gameforge Pacific GmbH respectively.

Together with Gameforge we operate a portfolio of 19 online games and therefore are the leading publishers of MMOGs in the western market.

With that many titles and many more coming, working under one name will allow much easier communication and navigation of our products – both existing and upcoming. This will result in increased resources for the administration and further development of our systems, as well as for graphics, web, and video production, and to offer you − our honored players − even better services, be it Community Management or Customer Support!

What about you and your favorite game?

In the near future, you will notice the adaption of Gameforge logos instead of Frogster on our websites. All games will soon be additionally featured on the Gameforge portal for easier access and overview while continuing to offer a core website for each game.

And that’s it.

Your forum, website, social media channels and especially your games will stay completely the same. The teams sitting behind your game have not changed either and will continue to offer you the best possible user experience… and beyond!

The renaming process is anticipated to occur in late July or in August 2012. Until then, all company units will operate under the current corporate names.

Of course we’d be delighted to have your feedback, thoughts and opinions and discuss them with our Community Managers on our forum.

Will this mean that a lot of the issues within Runes of Magic, will be taken on board and dealt with in a positive manner. By issues I mean the problems of constant crashes, siege wars still being in beta, the 'memory leak' and a customer care dept that does care. I and a number of my friends have been playing ROM since it's inception, but we are so fed up with the lack of communication, and the speed in which a problem is solved. If it can't be fixed instantly then tell us, please give us the hope that you are at least trying to fix them, other than the pathetic response you presently give. Guild Wars 2 is almost about to be released and you will lose a lot of customers to them, that I know.

This game became bad enough with just a little bit of Gameforge involvement. Now they're trying to take over even more.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Gameforge the same Co. they bought Frogster America and then shut it down?
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

I would like to ask you to post constructive and within our forum rules. Bashing of other players or us is not constructive ;)

I didn't think this comment was meant as a joke. Is it true?

You can find all information to this on the corporate website, for example here:

http://www.frogster.de/en/news,id305,fro…ag.html#news305

The decision to merge our services of Frogster America and Frogster Europe into one "overlord", as some of you like to refer to it, was a different matter and happened about half a year later.

As was stated:

Quoted

And that’s it.

So this is rather a cosmetic change as corporate identity ;)

I was about to post that Dionaea. The fact that the company changed it's name has 0 effect on us. It's the exact same people doing the exact same stuff with the exact same problems. Nothing will change except when people whine about frogster, they now have to change it to whining about Gameforge.

Though for a moment I was excited. I was hoping this would mean what Tomnaclag said, but they stated themselves that we'll be subjected to the exact same treatment as we've been getting.

Not sure what constructive feedback there is to give. You changed your name. *puts on back* good job son. That's the best we can do. Without being told there will be changes (other than cosmetic) there's nothing for us to be excited about.

what all this means is that as a whole frogster no longer exist. I have seen this type of full merger before and they are never good. I will expect less of every and more problems ahead as this is not just cosmetic its a take over other wise the said cosmetic change would have been done the moment Game forge Acquired Frogster. I how ever would hope they do take the time to fix the over all issues of the game as of now it is run very poorly from many stand points.

In my best constructive advice i would advise shutting the game down for a full month and fixing each quest as to where you can not leave the area till each one is finished and they been done where you must do them in order as this would fix a massive amount of questing issue and people going into new areas they should not be in. I would also set it to where you must be a certain minimum lvl to enter a certain area no less the the lowest lvl monster spawn. In my final suggestion make the snoop transport able to send to any area and make a single fee so i do not have to load 10 times to get some where.

I would have been more excited if you were to told us that someone like Ebisoft or EA was taking over Runes of Magic. Maybe we'd see change then.

I can't help but think this is imply a way for them to try and confuse the players into thinking a new company took over. Really? This is the news you decided to give us? What is the feedback you wanted, whether we like the name or not? We wanted change, we wanted someone who would care, and instead what you gave us is the exact same [expletive] that we've been getting with the exact same people. Oh boy. Notify us when real change occurs, like when you decide to update quests and items so they actually have text and names instead of a bunch of sys47272_name crap.

tmblake09, i recommend reading the most recent patch notes. Fixes are coming as soon as they are available, for example the dwarf NPC name and dialogue issue you are referring to has been fixed. Also please leave generalizing false assumptions out of the picture. If we would have wanted to do anything that you are hinting at, we would have not announced this forehand.

Maybe to clarify a bit, this information is in regards to the publisher, not in regards to the developer of the game. So bug fixes will continue to come as they have before, once they have been developed and released. While we all wish for bug fixes to come asap and pronto, it can not always be done.

Everyone, please lets find back to a fair and constructive tone here again. Bashing us and making false defamatory statements will not get any bugs fixed any faster, as much as we all want that. If you find this information not worth discussing, you do not need to discuss it. But those who want to do so have a platform to do so in this thread :)

So does this mean there will be ANOTHER support shift to gameforges system?
Will a lot of the operational websites still use FROGSTER branded domain names?
examples: https://account.frogster-america.com/ http://support.frogster-online.com/

I still love how I get support emails pointing to frogster-america despite the fact that there doesnt appear to be a working mailserver there anymore.
A real sysadmin knows how to change the time.
If you make the same mistake while trying to make up for the previous one, you are doing something wrong.

As much as I'd love to say I offer consulting services, the scope of things broken is too large.

You know Dio, my company pays for a service called Angies list, essentially we get valuable customer feedback to improve ourselves. If I were to log on and see an 85% negative rating from my customers I would not only be embarrassed, but I would make swift changes.

The forums are your Angies list, your customers are visibly unhappy, but they care enough to tell you, the unto itself speaks volumes for the base of support you have.

Many wonderful suggestions and criticism has been made, I have to pay a company to get very narrow and vague feedback, you have here a compilation of bright folks who are a bit frustrated, Gamedorge would be wise to listen, and change.

And I recommend re-reading what I posted, because I was not referring to the dwarven NPC name changes (which BTW I had read the patch notes prior to my post). There is a thread in the general discussions with screenshots of many of the typos/missing names in the new high level zone Rorazan, which has nothing to do with the dwarves. It's called Chapter 5: Typos of Magic. Those are what I was referring to. Don't ask for our feedback if all you want to here is "we love you, you can do no wrong!"
