In recent months, a number of complaints have been made against Runes of Magic that it is spawning a 'cult' following among young and impressionable teenagers. This comes from two words used throughout the game in several situations.
In order to try and distance the game from this, the following two text changes are being made throughout the game over the next 3 or 4 patches.
- The term "Rune" will be replaced with "Marble", meaning your gear is now enhanced by Marbles.
- The term "Magic" will be replaced with "Prestidigitation".

examples of some changes will give you a feel for how this change will affect some skills:
Of course, this now means that our game will experience a name change and will no longer be known as "
Runes of Magic".
Although the new name under the above text changes will be "
Marbles of Prestidigitation", we felt that this was too much of a mouthful and have instead opted for "
Journal of Knight Explorations", or
J.o.K.E. for short.
