So I'd just like to post my thoughts on the weekend promotions we have. As a (way less now, but) frequent diamond buyer, I feel I have a pretty good grasp on the sales prices and what items we're being offered. Others might disagree with that opinion but well..that's your opinion lol. Anyways, feel free to discuss:
First off let me start by saying we desperately need more variety on weekend promotions. It has gotten to the point where I can guess with about 90% accuracy which weekend promotion we're gonna get because we have the same. exact. rotating cycle of sales that we've had for a loooooooonngggg time. It's not my business how much the sales team makes, however, they haven't had much of a creative thought on weekend promos in quite some time. The way successful businesses STAY in business if by (one of many things) keeping consumers interested with variety and that "something new"
Now here's a breakdown of my thoughts on the rotating cycle of sales we have over and over and over and over and over again:
1.)
Most Wanted- Let's just start with my favorite weekend sales gripe..I don't know if there was a survey run 4+ years ago and you guys asked a bunch of random people to pick a few items at random or what, but the items in the Most Wanted promotion, from at least 95% of the people I've asked, are in fact, NOT items they "Most Want." If the sales team plans to keep running that same "Most Wanted" promotion, I think it's high time we got a refresher and were asked exactly what items we "Most Want" Yes? Ok. Moving along.
2.)
Infernal Trio- This sale was more or less great when the items weren't permanently in the item shop, and even now it's still an alright sale because the discount on them is nice. If I could give my continued critique on this sale, it would be to just spice it up a bit and add another item or two in the mix on sale, or something crazy like a costume here or there. By now, we all pretty much know the Infernal Trio means RAE's, EAP's and ABL's on sale. But put an "in addition to" or something in there would ya?
3.)
Purified Times- I don't really have much of a gripe with this sale. Everyone likes puris at a cheaper price, and I come from the days when puris were 39 diamonds a piece, so when I came back a year ago to the standard pricing of 19 diamonds, I was beside myself. And then when we get them at half that price, I really get happy. That combined with the charge sale of less than a diamond per charge is a very nice combo. I feel puris at that discounted price are pretty fair and I don't think lowering it anymore would be wise. Would I like lower puris? Sure, what paying customer wouldn't want more for less, but the standard for tiering will be raised and I'm a gearing elitist as it is, I don't want to make T10 gear lol. So this is a good sale, keep it going, well done etc etc
4.)
Arcane Runic Might- As I stated in a previous thread, I feel the price for runes are a little off balance, but again, I'm an elitist when it comes to gearing, and while the best is certainly not necessary, it is desired. So having to spend over 63,000 diamonds (yes I did the math) to get 3 out of the 4 runes on my gear from Tier 9 to Tier 10 runes, is a bit extreme. So my suggestion for this weekend promotion: either lower the price per rune for this weekend sale when it comes around, OR keep the same sales price, and start us at a tier higher. So for example, start us at Tier 8 runes on sale instead of Tier 7, etc. Also as a side note, as a dps class, I feel the price for Recons are INSANE. I guess at one point they were a lot cheaper to make and they are at the price GF believes they should be at now or something? Idk. I guess I was either not around when they were allegedly cheaper, or I'm dumb and I just never saw them that cheap, but I feel that ONE Reconciliation rune ON SALE at 274 diamonds per Tier 7? Not acceptable in my opinion. I have heard all the arguments from the community and the GF team as to WHY they are price the way they are, but I still don't approve. My suggestion for Recon runes is the same as my suggestion for other runes. Either lower the cost per Recon rune, or start us off at a tier higher (Tier

Ok? Ok. Next.
5.)
Arcane Gashas- Ok, here's the "problem child" sale where everyone will have a varied opinion, to which everyone is definitely entitled to, but here's mine, and I may lose you all right here lol: I think for this weekend promotion it's about time we just put +20 jewels in the gashas instead of +16's. We've had +16's permanently in the item shop for a good amount of time now, and while GF has pretty much slowly and delicately tried to wean us on to +20 jewels by putting them in events and trying to sell us on them in the Wheel of (Mis)fortune, I think it's about time to just full out sell them to us. No you don't have to put them in the item shop permanently. BUT I do think it's time to just come out and "release" them officially in a sale. While I would PREFER you just sell me the +20 gems as individual pieces, I'd be willing to give +20 gem Gashas a try. I have said my piece on my thoughts to having them in the Wheel of (Mis)fortune, and this is not a thread for me to voice my thoughts on that again. BUT, I think for this weeked promotion, when it comes around next, should include +20 gems instead of +16 gems. Just go ahead and do it. They're already out there randomly, they're not going away, so just stop hiding them in the shadows and bring them to light in an official sale.
These are about the only weekend sales I can think of that we get in a regular rotation. It's always the same cookie cutter sales, and without even seeing what the sales consist of, by just reading the name of the promotion, we all know what it is. I think I can speak for a good majority of us in the community when I say, that kind of repetition is not good for business or morale. We want something new. Heck, we want promotions that are NEW new. Some suggestions:
A.)
Costumes- We in game fashionistas love em. We love them, we want them, we gotta have em. When I left and came back, The Magic Wardrobe was introduced. For me (and for others like me) it was a game changers. I change my in game outfit at least once a week, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this or something similar. We in game fashionistas will GLADLY pay for outfits. I wasn't here when they got rid of the ruby costumes, so idk what that whole deal was, but I miss those outfits, and even if they were offered as diamond promotions once a month or once in awhile, I'd be quite happy with that, and I know a good portion of the community who would too.
B.)
Housing Items- Here we go. Boss Furniture, Housing Contracts, Seasonal Furniture, House Energy Orb sales, you name it! While I don't necessarily need any of these things, I know a good many people who would pay good diamonds for these housing items. Get creative with it sales team. It's a great idea and you know it. Pricing on said items? Well idk, I came up with the idea, now you market it lol. But I think most would agree with me that a good housing item sale here and there would breathe a little light back into the promotions
C.)
Plussing Gems- I won't go all out into another paragraph about it, but I (and a few others) think having +20 gems on sale either as a singular item, or in actual gashas would be awesome. I know I would pay GOOD diamonds for them individually, and I'd pay a fair price for them for the chance at an actual gasha. Moving on.
D.)
Transformation Pots- Idk about the rest of you classes, but we mages LOVE. POWAH. And we especially look forward to this time of year, because its the ONE TIME A YEAR they sell transformation pots (for me, Donichuka INT % Pots). I think you guys in the sales department would do well to offer these more than once a year. I'd buy them often enough, and I know others would stock up on them too. So just think about it, at least double your usual promotion and do it twice a year eh?
Some closing statements:
The overall theme of this thread is to mix it up GF. We're tired of the same sales over and over again and we want something new. Heck, spruce up your ideas on Happy Hour sales too. I see the same few items offered as Happy Hour items. There are HUNDREDS of items in the item shop, you don't have to be so linear with what you offer for Happy Hour promotions.
While I also feel this way about Wednesday Specials, you guys do tend to mix that up a bit from time to time. Do I think it could be more? Absolutely. The tier stone sales, random costume sales here and there, magical instruments from time to time, its all nice to see, but we would just like to see it more often.
I apologize for this being such a long thread. I feel I was pretty unbiased on my opinions on each item on the agenda, and I look forward to seeing some feedback from the Community as a whole, as well as the GM's and CM.
Thanks
