This year's promotions

Well, another holiday season has come to pass and its time to look towards what's to come in 2016. Sadly, for me it will be significantly less ROM. This year's promotions were very sad, encyclopedias for Christmas and ripoff geishas for new years. This paired with continued poor support has pushed me to look elsewhere for entertainment. This game has soo much to offer, I've been playing now over 5 years in hopes that it will be managed better and be given the proper support to reach its potential. I know we aren't allowed to post our grievances, but what choice do we have when the replies from support are so apathetic or automated? I hope 2016 gets better and that Gameforge has big plans to provide support to a community that deserves it. Happy new year friends!

The promotions are the same as always. They were programmed in over a decade ago before the game was even released. They will always be the same unless they find an item that was on sale that worked too well i.e. the Attribute Purifying Stone that removed all attributes from an item not just one. Which was eliminated when they figured out they could sell 6 Random Attribute Removal stones for more money.
At one time they actually asked what we would like to be put into a sale and actually put a couple of the many items in a special sale but it never happened again and the items were stuck in Gottyas and packages (remember the package with the 3rd back pack page, that came with a very expensive mount and a lot of junk for almost a thousand diamonds) with items no one wanted to price them way out of sensible range.
Face it, things are far easier for them if they never bother to change the promotions and they intend to punish us if we ask for change.

Personally, I can understand what you are thinking. It is one of those things that eventually happens. I even stopped logging in to do dailies. The last time we tried to play the game just... wasn't the same rush as what we were used to. I guess the time off waiting for the merge just took too long for us and we just fell out of interest. The promotions, diamond sales, money grabs, etc will eventually get on peoples nerves and they will no longer play. It is a shame because there isn't new players coming in to replace the ones that are leaving and the system stays the same.

Here is hoping something entices us back to the game, but sadly I don't think it will.

what do you expect? We are play a game where we cant even talk to the game makers.

Ya ya, GMs send feedback, but that is not us the players talking to the dev and them talking to us.

Iv noticed that games with little communication with devs from players never get stuff done right.

Every now and then GF member will say something but thats just a publisher, what can they do or even know.

Just dont get your hopes up, i dont for RoM.

and when was the last time we got a promotion for title badge items or the 7% wedding food? D: they repeat the same junk so often and leave out things that all characters can use for months and months.

It's pretty apparent this thread has run its course and nothing more constructive will come out of it, so /closed.

The state of the game

Nice, way to respond to the communities concerns/complaints. When you close these threads, you're essentially discounting our concerns. More importantly you're saying you don't care. When people ask about 7% wedding food for instance, how about a nice " we understand your concern and as players too, we share your desire for this, we will communicate this to the (whomever makes those decisions) on your behalf." Its frustrating enough to not be heard by the developers but it adds insult to injury when the moderators shut us down and refuse to listen. Many of us want this game to be what it can be, and simply walking away instead of trying to push it towards that potential ( I imagine is why many of us complain and voice our concerns to you rather than just walking away). This combined with our considerable investment, in the last 5 years I've invested over 5k in this game ( check my account if you don't believe me) and with that kind of investment we push for a return on that investment. Please stop closing our threads with valid concerns, give our thoughts consideration, relay our thoughts to those who can address the concerns. Make the community stronger by building trust through support rather than censorship.

The fact that your opening thread -had- some constructive points was the only reason it stayed open as long as it did. Nearly every reply was 'empty', containing no actionable or useful items about promotions for devs nor gameforge nor support. Most were just assertions of woe, some served nothing but to increase friction between our members. Those were removed, but eventually we got to a point where the thread had many posts and more than half removed as off topic or troll. That's when we have to evaluate whether it should be kept open. Aqua correctly closed it.

I tried to keep it cleaned, on topic and open for you, since I feel that players need some place to explain their frustrations. It didn't work out, through no fault of the OP.

As you can imagine, we don't allow this kind of re-opening of closed threads. It would defeat the purpose of a /close. Thanks for the bash on support BTW. Happy new year to you as well.
