Taborea lies covered in a blanket of snow. Christmas is fast approaching, and everyone is busy preparing for the festivities: buying gifts, cleaning their houses, preparing their meals.

But it is also the time of thieving monsters! Be on your guard, monsters will try to steal your food in the upcoming weeks leading to New Years Eve. There'll be events, competitions and great prizes for you to look forward to!

You'll find all the important details in this thread. It's worth checking up regularly to stay up to date with the latest news!

Share gifts with everyone!

Christmas and the New Year is the festive season, and a time for you to share the joy with other people!

Eve, Frank, Hilary and Owenstein also would like to share their best wishes with all Taboreans – You can visit them in Varanas Central Plaza (channel 1) between December 15th (after maintenance) to December 22nd (until maintenance) and exchange some items for some awesome presents.

Gathering around the Christmas Tree

Everyone in Taborea is preparing for the festive season by baking, decorating, and preparing gifts. But one thing matters more than all others, being with your family and visiting your friends!
So why don’t you draw us a picture of a gathering of you and your friends, sitting around a fireplace, drinking hot chocolate or wine whilst you listen to someone talking of their heroic deeds of the past year!

We’ll be waiting for your submission, which you can send via e-mail: event@runesofmagic.com (3.01.2016 23:59 CET is the deadline).

secret rules

Rules:

Every registered Runes of Magic player may participate in the competition. Members of the Runes of Magic Team are not eligible to participate.
By participating in the competition, you give Gameforge permission to use your submission on any Gameforge official page (such as forums, websites, Facebook and Twitter).
Every submission must match the competition theme.
Your work must be an original creation made by you (drawn, painted or created in a computer graphics program) without the use of renders, stocks, photos or pre-made elements. In-game screenshots or official Runes of Magic artwork (or parts of them) may not be used.
Participants may enter only one submission for the whole competition.
We will choose 3 winners from each community (RoM: EN / DE / FR / PL / ES / IT / US). Participants will be grouped by the servers where they would like to receive the reward. Winners will be announced on the forums and on our social media pages.
The Runes of Magic Team may change the rules for the competition at any time, should unforeseen circumstances prevent the fair administration of the competition.

Competition theme:

Any submissions, which:

infringe copyright laws or were not made by the participant,
are submitted in an incorrect file type,
do not match the competition theme,
use animation,
violate the Terms of Use, Forum Rules, and/or Game Rules of Runes of Magic

will be excluded from the competition immediately and without warning. The Runes of Magic Team will judge the submissions and choose the winners, taking into account the effort, creativity and visual effect of the submitted works.

Each user may send only one submission.

The Jingle Brother has left Varanas to continue with his travels, but he left a message for everyone that helped him out during his stay in Varanas!

“I am eternally grateful to you all for your help and I would love to know more about you, your travels and your fights with the evil monsters! Write to me about everything you’ve done, and if your deeds are worthy I shall send you a special gift!”

Fun in the snow!?!

Taborea is covered by a thick layer of snow and sun is shining. The monsters seem more aggressive than usual, maybe it’s because they need to prepare their food supplies… Keep the land safe and hunt down the monsters. Perhaps you might even find some special loot!

Between December 18th at 10:00 (local time) and December 27th at 23:55 (local time) you will gain +100% Experience from quests and mobs, +250% talent points from mobs, and a +100% boost in drop rates.
Between December 28th at 00:05 (local time) and January 3rd at 23:59 (local time) you will gain + 200% Experience from quests and mobs, +500% talent points from mobs, and a +200% boost in drop rates.
Please note that between the two phases of the boost event, there will be a few minutes when no boost is active.

Here is the list of winners on US side from our Runes of Magic "Letters to the Jingle Brother" competition. We would like to congratulate all of them and to thank everyone who participated in this competition. Prizes were already delivered to all winners.

Dear Jingle Brother,

I hope your holiday was as good as mine. We took a trip to grandmas house and had snacks and played family games and enjoyed each others company. Then we went to bed and Santa came. We got up super early and had breakfast casserole and coffee cake, it was so delicious. We opened our presents from Santa. I got a new shirt, some socks, lots of candy and gift cards. After that we went traveled to my moms house, lots of crazy drivers because it was Christmas and they were in a hurry but we made it safe and sound. I got to see my 3 year old nephew and my 1 month old nephew. My nephew couldn't hold his excitement that Santa came so he had already opened all his presents, but he was excited to show me what he got. My baby nephew wasn't interested as much but he did enjoy me holding him, he even smiled a little. Then came Christmas dinner, Turkey, Ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, deviled eggs, rolls, green bean casserole, stuffing, gravy, and I'm sure there is more. But there was lots of food, laughs and just over all fun. I really enjoyed Christmas this year. It was a lot different then Christmas in the past. I hope you had a good holiday Jingle Brother.
