Server Crashes 9./10. November

4 Servers just went down, IT was informed and the servers are coming back up already.

On 3 other servers the house, castle and channel2+3 went down, this has also been restarted.
Exception: Osha Channel2+3 will still be unavailable for now. Everything else should be working again.

Please note that it will take around 20 Minutes until all the zones are back again on a server that has just been restarted, even if you are able to login already. So if you were in a zone that is not yet up already, you're most likely being ported to the starting zone.

The problems mentioned above are recurring throughout the day as you will have surely noticed. We've been steadily informing IT all the time when something breaks down completely and will continue to do so.

If you want to report additional server problems to us, please stick to this thread for now - or hop on IRC and talk to a team member.

And being my brutally honest self once again: We know it sucks. We all want it resolved as much as you do. Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause to all of you.

We have received an update from IT regarding the server issues. The servers are having massive load issues caused by DDoS which causes at some point the whole server service of RoM to shut down on some boxes and the massive zone closings at once on others. Also, as DDoS traditionally means a huge incoming bandwith influx, this will also cause lag - as mostly reported by players from Artemis during the current issue situation.

IT is working on mitigation solutions together with the datacenter operators of the DC where the servers are hosted but in the mean time, until it is resolved, there is not much else to do except restarting the services that go down again.

Again, sorry for any inconveniences.
