Change ?

Will change really come after the merge or are they just delaying the inevitable ? will they keep moving forward by picking things up on the merge or will they be like welp we merged some servers lets call it a year ? if that is all Rom it wont be enough yall need to step it up and fix the game more after the merge and listen to the players and the community and stop being so selfish and greedy and look out for the people because we are what keep the gaming running once we leave than what ? unless yall want people to leave is that it ? well thats all i got to say step it up

Not sure how well this topic will do, but the merg will be nice but will not do much for the overall game.

Most guilds will do the same thing they are doing right now...keeping to them self, so the guilds who don't do anything because lack of x will still do nothing. Some endgamers will try to jump to another endgame guild but for most people everything will be the same.

For players to be more active, you have to lower the amount of guilds, so player base is not spread out. Must people will only do stuff with their own guild.

I am sure GF will try to keep RW to fix things and etc but no one knows if any of them plans are game changers.

Truth is, we won't know how it will affect the game till it happens. guilds probably will continue going on as if nothing happened, however, there will be more options for the players.

Another thing, new players (yes there are still new players) are now limited to a choice of two servers instead of 7, so chances are, if your guild is actively recruiting, you will have a larger pool to pull from. So, guild growth is a possibility.

to the op: not sure what you're asking exactly or if it is really just a rhetorical statement in the guise of a question. Either way I would say it is reasonable to assume that once the servers merge that things will stay pretty much as they are.

What we KNOW is the servers are merging and that they are working on siege and centralizing diamonds to player accounts. That's about all we really know based on what has been passed on to the community. Will other issues that routinely crop up on the forums be addressed? I would argue no from the standpoint that if further actions were planned/intended they would most likely have been announced by now.

Server activity: As far as the community response to the consolidation of the remaining player base being enough to motivate players to become more active as a whole, my personal opinion is that without further significant changes the game will be exactly "more of the same" and very little more. Time will tell of course. Many players have asked for the intervention of the company for years now with little evidence supporting that what is posted on the forums has any correlation to the changes that have been made. Of those where correlation exists, even less evidence supports causation. Therefore I think it would be naive of us to think that after so many years things will change simply because the servers are being merged.

Other changes within the community: The existing RoM community reflects a rather large dichotomy of action and fundamental approach that has always placed the player base at odds e.g. dias buyers vs f2p, end-game vs casual, etc. Merging the servers will have very little to zero affect on that. About the only things that COULD be positively improved are the increase in the available pool of talent that has already been mentioned and the economies that will benefit from an increased supply. Even that however is speculative as the increase in supply also comes with an increase in demand which could cause inflation in already challenging economies. This of course could again leadi to further population losses and to where we are now. Again, only time will tell for certain.

In conclusion, it's not a simple question or answer by any stretch. There is no single issue that either the players or the company can resolve that would guarantee the gaming experience will improve after the mergers. It will take a lot of work resolving many issues by both the company and the player base to do that.

Sometimes I wonder if this game is actually making more money right now then it did in Ch 1. I mean, the amount of money to stat, clean tier, +16 or +20 gear and the insanely high tiered weapons people have nowadays, is probably equivalent to like, more than what 100 people spend on gearing in Ch1.

Especially when you look at german "show off your toon" threads, its just pages after pages of absolutely insane T8 to T9 +20 stuff
