Frogster don't care about the player's response or the player's thought. They only care about making money and anything that makes people spend less on diamonds because they get more in game, they remove. What they don't understand is instead of making people spend more on diamonds, this attitude they have towards the game is alienating the players. If Frogster want to be making more money, then they need to start listening to the player base and stop messing with the game in a way that alienates the players. If Frogster don't want to have players, why not just close the game entirely and be done with it? If they want to seriously up their diamond sales, then they need to start listening to more of what players want.
I used to buy many diamonds in the past and gift with them, and buy more and gift more, and I could buy more for the purpose to gift items to those who couldn't buy. This in itself made frogster more money as I was buying for people who couldn't. Then they stopped diamond item gifting. So I went from spending lots of money to spending very little.
You were able to buy pet perfume for 29 diamonds for 7 days and 49 diamonds for 30 days and now its 25 for one day. Seriously, what were the higher ups thinking??? Now I'll definitely NEVER buy diamonds again for that purpose. And they took off megaphones from the token shop.
I went from wanting to spend money to not wanting to spend a cent on the game. I doubt this is the feeling that Frogster wanted to achieve and this needs to be sorted because RoM could become more popular then World of Warcraft and make much more money, but the way they are going about it is just wrong.
I also find it wrong that I cannot send bound items from one character in my account to another character in my account. I have two mounts on my main char, one of which I could be using on my new dwarf and can't even share bound items.
Frogster, if you read this, I do hope you take a long hard look at RoM and how many players are being alienated. Potential diamond buyers who would love nothing more then to spend money on this game but arn't because of the way the game is heading. I hope you turn it around and fix it.
I find my self only wanting to get one or two things out of the diamond shop also. Partly because when I look at what is there I think it is garbage which will not help my game playing experience and partly because I feel things are still way to expensive. 199 diamonds to change what my pet looks like! Get a grip. That is approximately $10.00 USD, not worth it IMHO. Yes, I'm a little high on the actual REAL DOLLAR cost, but for a virtual product, the price is way out of line.
It took me 3 Months to find the Ant Queen last time i did it, I Guess this will help all the people that have farmed this world boss stay a bit ahead of the rest of us that who were working on Just completeing the Quest
So many posts complaining about different things which could be, SHOULD have been, fixed. The first one I wanted to quote talked about the Myrmex queen and her 24 hour spawn. She WAS an end game NPC from what I understand and I never see her because someone is farming her. So I sit with junk in my inventory as I really don't want to abandon the quest and then one day luck into finding the farmers and getting them to invite me to their party.
The giant cactii, another set of quests which is sitting in my log. This one really isn't broke, but it is a royal pain stopping by every day to see if one is there and if so which one. Something should be done to make it possible to force the spawn of the cactus needed.
The siege timer. This should have been fixed immediately IF the goal is to give a chance to PvP in a non-destructive way and keep people playing the game. However, I think the powers are following the current American business model of getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. This means get rid of players who see the flaws, would like them fixed, but aren't spending any money to bring in people who will spend money as they don't know what the problems are. (For those who don't see the connection to the business model, fire the experienced people you have to pay a decent wage to and bring in new people who don't have a clue how to do the job, but are paid entry level wages.)
Can't talk about the current end game boss timer change as I'm not there yet other than to say look at my above comments and actually think before the next change is made to come up with something which will make the customer base happy AND actually increase profits for the company. I really like some of the events which are built into the game. I wish as much attention would be paid to fixing problems people bring up as is given to those events. I also wish it would be communicated WHY certain changes are being made when they make so many people unhappy. This needs to be done by someone other than the mentors who aren't in on the decision making process and are expected to deal with all the grief directed at the company. It is not fair to them or the customer.
My 2 cents and I'm off my soap box.
