Imo, the new R/M elites look kinda nice, and still offers stun/aoe ability, except you can throw it now, rather than set it up on the ground and hope somebody will step on it.
Looks & practice are two different things in this case. Ive been doing some testing with our resident rogue/mages (we have 2) and while some of the DPS on these skills in PVE is acceptable, the stuns are pretty weak by comparison. The longest of the stuns is 2 seconds... and thats 2 seconds that subject to the diminishing effects of repeated stuns. Thus, if someone was hit by lightning or shadow prison or whatever ~15 seconds before, that stun will barely last 1 second.
The throwing part of the class combo is 100% broken by bad coding on the elites. The description of the elites may read one thing when you translate them, but currently the skill is doing DPS comparable to the DPS combo throw & throw did BEFORE they were made useful skills. In other words, lvl 70+ combo throw hitting for approx 3k damage on a R/M, then they can swap to R/anything else, and those combo throws go back up to 70k.
