Cleaning "skins" off of armor

Hello,

I searched for an answer to this, but could not find anything. So here's the scenario:

Purchased an Elemental Flame Headdress last night but it's appearance is for male only (and my character is female). I have an aggregator, so I can apply a new "skin" to it, but I would prefer to revert to the original appearance. Is there a way to do this without obtaining another Elemental Flame Headdress? (Cause... that's not so cheap or easy)

Thanks for the help in advance! :)

No, to the best of my knowledge you need to find a new skin.

Now watch me be contradicted inside five minutes :)

Nope, no contradiction. ^^ is correct.

Thanks guys for the quick response! I was afraid that was gonna be the answer! I guess I'll just change to a neutral headpiece for now and switch it again once I have another headdress!

Appreciate it! (Even though you gave the "wrong" answer!) ;)

Also, elemental flame pieces are not gender specific by default, so that skin has already been modified from the original. I only point that out because if you ever plan on buying another of the same piece to match what it looks like now, it won't work....you likely just get what the original elemental piece is supposed to look like.

(Insert my previous complaint about the equipment preview panel not being auction item specific, even though the icons are, here...)

Thanks Barbrady,

I think the display window was actually showing me the default elemental flame, since it looks like the male "skin" was some kind of jester mask, and it definately didn't look anything like that...

I appreciate the advice! :)

Yea, that's exactly what my old complaint was about LOL...if there's no gender restriction you can't tell somebody has modified the skin unless it's obvious by the icon...but a buyer may have no idea what the original icon is supposed to look like...especially a new player.

Aggregated gear that are gender specific show up in the description though. To my knowledge, there's very very few actual gear (maybe like 2, and some wings) that isn't costume gear that is gender specific, but there are class-only gear in MA - which cannot be changed.
