Stone Castle Upgrade

I was thinking of upgrading my guild castle to stone, but something I read a while ago bothered me. I tried looking for it all over the place online, but can't remember what it was titled or where I found it... but basically it said that in guild siege, guild castles that have been upgraded to stone structures are vulnerable to infiltration because of the low ramparts they have protruding from their walls.

This is what it meant:

Now, from what I read, it suggested that in siege, these low ramparts were able to be exploited by having people jump up on them with mounts or potions or something I can't rightly remember.

However, with as long as I've been involved in siege, I can honestly say that I've never seen a guild castle that wasn't wood. My questions are:

1) Is the wooden castle the default castle set up in siege, and regardless of castle upgrades, will they never show stone castles? If not...

2) Is the reason I've only ever seen wooden castles, is because everyone is aware of this "exploit" and has thus decided against upgrading to that point so they don't leave themselves vulnerable? If so...

3) Has this exploit ever been a problem for anyone? Does it really exist? Anyone with a stone castle out there that could verify whether or not their stone castle shows up in siege, or if it's just the wooden one? And if it is stone, have you ever had problems with this being an infiltration point?

even though it does look slow you are still not able to jump onto them during siege.

the other reason why you do not see many upgraded castles is that it cost somewhere around 120k rubies. which will take you awhile to get.

The "low ramparts" are from upgraded walls.

As for not that many having them, that is not entirely correct anymore with that Guildmaster Package that has come out in recent sales that gave quite a bit of resources for guilds to make them now.

Stone Construction

I have heard the same thing but then we also saw exploits with the wooden wall.
Stone Walls are seperate from a Stone Castle as well.
The cost is impressive. Then when you combine both Walls and Castle, the Rubies alone are over 291,000.
Basic Cost for one or the other is:
145,613 Rubies, over 42 million pieces of Wood,Ore and Herbs.
Then around 43,000 Guild Runes and Guild Stones are a little less. I can have the exact numbers as soon as the server is up.
The Guild Runes are easy but we always have to wait on Guild Rubies and special events. It can take a very, very long time to get the Rubies but in the end it will be worth it.
Hopefully, my Guild will have one or the other built by the end of this week.:D
The passageways are smaller and the parapets extend further out making defenses better. The Castle Gates are thicker and harder to take down. The wall gates do come down as fast as the Basic Build.
If nothing else, it looks impressive as (heck). It does have the effect of causing people to stop and go WHOA! (which gives you a wee bit of advantage):) Hope this is helpfull.
I may put a post with all of the requirements.

Even with the wooden castles, if someone wants to exploit to get into your castle, they can. Just takes a galloping gale and a bit of knowledge about the terrain in siege, I won't get into more detail, since I don't want to "encourage exploiting". If you can get the upgrade, go for it. People will exploit regardless.

Due to the desire and diligence of the guild members, the packages that came out a month or so ago in the ruby section of the cash shop, and the running of the guild daily quests, I belong to a guild that has the upgraded walls and the upgraded castle (2 separate upgrades). We, as guild members, were competing against each other and before we all knew it, we had all the mats and resources we needed for both upgrades. It was awesome and exhilarating.

As for the low rampart on the front of the castle, we have not experienced anyone accessing our castle's courtyard by jumping on this low wall. We, on the other hand, have seen opposing team members in back of the castle get onto the castle grounds that way. A upgraded flame tower, a upgraded electric tower and a face of treachery placed in the corner of wall and castle eliminate this problem. We would prefer to not have to use siege resources to do this, but it is what it is - some guilds just can not participate in siege without cheating or hacking.

The upgraded walls surrounding the castle and the upgraded castle itself do show up in siege different looking compared to the non-upgraded. Hope this helps.

yes, its very possible for people to get into the castle with the stone wall upgrade. we had someone do it night before last, we even got a screen shot of then admitting to it saying there is nothing wrong with it, fact is, it has been stated that if you purposely enter a castle in any way without the gates down, it is a terrain exploit. that said

it is even possible to get in with a wooden wall, out of siege some guildies and i dueled in our castle and i had him stand on the lowest ledge and i was able to shadow step him, it was hard but possible, i dont know if it is possible in siege how ever, i;ve never tried it and never will.

another way is its still possible to "phase" through the gates. we;ve had people do this even after the update claiming its now impossible to shadow step or glitch in the gates.

in all honesty, cheaters are going to be cheaters, and your going to encounter then no matter what wall you have, imho if you have the resources, up it. if people do cheat, report them and carry on. dont let them spoil what you want to do because they want to cheat =)

It just makes me lol, using siege resources to guard castle. well.......if you notice a properly guarded castle looks like, well, varanas city, dalanis, you get the idea. we try to keep sentries posted on the walls to keep eyes out. thats how you defend a castle.
