Diamonds locked? wtf?

I'd like to know why I can purchase items but not gift anything? I bought these diamonds, I think I should be allowed to invest them as I see fit, even if that means selling dias for gold. I don't understand how my diamonds that have been payed and cleared months ago are somehow different from those I'd buy today.

Regardless, you guys owe me 11m in lost business. Will be waiting for the funds, thanks.

Also, might want to add information about this in FAQ so people don't have to waste their time posting on forums like I'm doing right now.

If you bought the RoM cards $10 or $25 they are in fact locked for 24 hours. After that you can gift with them.
I reject your reality and choose my own instead!

The only true unlocked diamonds are those bought using PayPal. If you used a credit card they will never be unlocked. I use both PayPal and the rom cards and never had any locked on me not once.

Bought with paypal I'm pretty sure. Although it could have been a credit card. Either way that was never stated on purchase (which was done quite a while back, but I had quit playing and just came back) and I will be requesting a refund if this is the case, ESPECIALLY since from what I've managed to find off unofficial sites, this is somewhat of a new policy?

Either way, once the money is cleared in their pockets, it makes NO sense to not apply the same rules to all diamond purchases.

Technically, dias bought before the change can still be locked. I have dias on an alt account that are still locked because I bought them like a year ago. I think OP might be having the same issue.

Diamonds bought with a Credit card are still locked to the account that purchased them. Only unlocked ones are the ones purchased through PayPal and RoM/Zeevex cards. They do it this way to prevent fraud. Credit Cards are notorious for beign stolen and or used by little kiddies unknown to their parents.

Diamonds purchased with a CC are now unlocked. Its been that way for a few months now.
What people had to do to unlock existing diamonds on their accounts, was to contact support and they would unlock the existing ones.
You will probably need someone from the new team to verify that this is still the case for older toons with the still locked diamonds tho.

They made an official statement that anyone with locked diamonds could submit a ticket and the diamonds would be unlocked.

Submit a support ticket and we'll unlock them for you.

And as per Caedmon:

Quoted from "Caedmon"

Over the course of the next 1-2 weeks our payment system will evolve, offering a significantly more comfortable and convenient way for you to purchase your Runes of Magic diamonds.

Part of this change is that "Locked Diamonds" are a thing of the past. Only "Unlocked Diamonds" will be available when this change takes place, which will allow our customers to use the gift function as soon as all diamonds have arrived.

Over the next couple of days we will give you more details and introduce you in detail to the new system, including the new User Interface, the advantages of the new system and what will be different compared to the old one - so stay tuned.

For those who are having trouble making a purchase, you must go through account management here:

https://account.frogster-america.com/

If you attempt to go through recharge diamonds on the main page, it will not work.

The recharge diamonds is being tested for our new billing system and is not live yet.

Not really sure whether both of them have since been canned but if policy has changed, an update would be nice.
