fell snake(dark) is good pet for rogues or scouts but you cannot get that pet transformation from item shop. So forest leopard pet is next best for rogues which is available in item shop.

No, they dont change only appearance. I still say that executioner puppet is best R/S pet, but rainbow hunter and forest leopard are good too. There was an extensive analysis of R/S pet and that was the conclusion, but it is probably lost now with forum restructuring.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

^ This...which is why I'm wondering why it wasn't offered this time around. I'd say Fel Snake is #2, but of course that's never been an item shop offer. Lot's of people not happy that the Puppet wasn't listed though, I don't know if it was just an oversight or what.

Best R/S pet is executioner puppet.
Best R/K pet is fell snake - not that there are many R/Ks left.

I'm gonna have to disagree, the executioner puppet has a skill that boosts all it's master's attributes by 5%, and you have wasted points in int & wis; it does however have a speed increase buff.

The fell snake has a buff that increases defense, but as a rogue that's only a moderate concern as unless you're tanking, it's not something you NEED to focus on because of your dodge from dex.

Comparatively, the forest leopard has one buff that increases the damage of your weapon, and another that increases your patt, giving it two special buff abilities specific to a dps class, in addition to it's regular attack.

Pound for pound, since R/S is primarily a DPS class, I would go with the forest leopard as being the best pet for them.

The fell snake has a buff that increases defense,
No.

The Fell Snake has Confusion Gas: Reduces physical defense of target by 10.0% for 15.0 seconds.
It also has Huntsman Assist: For 30.0 seconds, the pet master's physical attack power will increase by 10.0%.
And Rabid Rage: Inflicts 250.0% physical damage on target.

The Executioner Puppet has Boiling Blood: Increases all pet master's attributes by 5.0% for 15.0 seconds.
Battle Will: Increases the pet master's attack speed by 8.0% for 15.0 seconds.
And Rend: Inflicts 250% physical damage on target.

BTW you can find all of these at this link http://www.theromwiki.com/Magic_Pets#Lis…Pets_.26_Skills

You're right, the fell snake does decrease physical defense of the target and not pdef of the player, I must have read wrong. Everything else still stands, and I would still take a pdam increase over a pdef decrease; as the pdam will persist after your target dies, and will affect multiple targets that you hit while it's active (eg. shadow stab, phantom stab).

PAtk over Atk Speed? Hmmm, no thanks...

Oh, and the attributes boost...which of course, boosts Patk as well as everything else...

To each his own, the Fel Snake is an excellent pet...but I still think the Puppet wins for R/S... /shrug

it's not patt vs att speed...
it's pdam vs att speed & attributes vs patt (leopard vs puppet).
Additionally it's, -tgt pdef vs pdam (leopard vs snake).

Both the leopard and the snake have the patt buff. But while the snake also decreases target def, the leopard increases your weapon damage. Which imo the leopard wins out on.

The puppet is kind of a harder one to gauge, in that it boosts attack speed (doesn't effect skill damage) where the leopard increases weapon damage (does effect skill damage) but the att speed ends up lasting longer. Kind of a toss up there, especially since the 20sec recast trigger (or is it 40sec now?) doesn't start until the ability affect ends. Additionally the puppet gives a +5% all attributes vs a +10% patt buff that the leopard gives, and that's really a judgement call on how you spec'd your character. If you stacked dex well beyond patt, the +5% will probably help out considerably, but like most people, patt is much easier to come by and it comes in more copious amounts. So where a +5% boost to say 10k dex, 5k str & 15k stam only equals 500 dex & 250 str (roughly +800 patt), and an extra 750 stam (roughly 3.75k hp); versus an extra +10% on 50k patt ends up being another +5k patt.

But like you said, to each his own. Really, as long as you get a pet that has skills that can be construed as melee bonus buffs... then they're all gonna pretty much provide roughly the same advantages. If only marginally different at all.
