I've been doing some research myself, putting together pieces of the puzzle.
Psyron seems to be the one that uses Focus, although not sure. I'd be willing to bet this is a shorter ranged class that primarily is a debuffing or damage dealing class. If I'm right about it using Focus, it probably has some insane burst damage much like Rogues.
Harpsyn one seems to use Rage and temporary buffs/states. I think this is the one that uses the Blood Runes, probably similar to the Druids' Nature Power. I'm still wondering about this class and its primary mechanics, it's hard to tell. R/H seems to have a ton of new traps, including taunting and fearing ones. I'm really looking forward to this one.
I'd love to see a new race, not sure if it is going to be Zurhidon, but we will see. Their story doesn't really lend itself to being friendly to Elfs and Humans. I'm just going to throw it out there, I think the next race will be Naga or Kalonian (Rhino People). The Nagas were kind of forced into slavery by the Zurhidons and didn't have much of a choice. Kalons were friendly with the dwarves but then the whole Sismond story came to ruin everything for them.
Either way, both of these classes and possible races seem like they will fit into the game very well.
Yeah, after making that post of mine - I went and looked at it more in-depth, as well as discussed it with a guildie of mine. We figured the "Psyron" to be a focus-using "Psionic"-power wielding class. Which makes sense, to use psionic/psychic powers, one would need to be able to focus their mind, ne? lol
As for the Harpsyn class, it seems to be revolved around rage, and mechnisms. My friend and I were contemplating some kind of engineer-like class. Remember, there used to be (and still is? Haven't checke,d lol) a "gun" skill, despite no guns being in game. On that topic, there also used to be a "Lance" skill (or spear, was it?), which could be the weapon of choice for the Psyron's?
As for a new race - my friend says it could be Dwarves. Bit I'm not 100% convinced it's a new race, yet. I mean look at the 4 classes that have the 'new' elite skills available:
- Warrior (can be used by any race)
- Rogue (can be used by any race)
- Mage (can be used by any race)
-Priest (only usable by humans, so far?)
It's the Priest that makes me wonder, if these 2 new classes are apart of a new race, or just another 2 new classes that can be used by either race, and just the other 4 classes (Knight, Warden, Druid and Scout) haven't been updated on the database yet? At this point, it really could go either way and we'd have to keep our eyes open.
If there is a new race, capable of having Warriors, Priests, Mages, Rogues, "Psyrons" and "Harpsyns" then it would be a race that we would expect to be capable of:
- wielding psionic powers
- having 'holy' members to play the role of priests
- capable of wielding and controlling runic powers, as well as machines/mechanisms
- not capable of having bow-wielding skills (no scouts from what we know of)
At the moment, Nagas do strike me as the kind to be able to wield psionic powers as well as control runic powers / machines. Having Naga priests seems... weird to me though. Naga warriors, Naga mages and Naga rogues all make sense to me, though.
As for Kalons... I don't see Kalon priests (rather, I'd see Kalon Shamans), or Kalon Psyrons either.
I can't see Dwarves having Psionic powers, either. Everything else would work for them, though. Albeit I'd think Dwarves would be more likely to have a Knight class rather than a Priest (or Psyron) class.
If you want to dive further into more RoM races, there are:
- The Dimarkans (Barbaric peoples)
- The Capra (Goat people)
- The Tiktaalik (Fish people)
- The Angren (Cat people)
- The Rh'anka (... I don't even know)
- The Limon (Dog people)
- The Gnoll (More dog people? lol)
After listing it... the most reasonable (at the moment) seem like either the Limon or the Nagas. Limon I'm... not convinced yet, since they don't seem capable of using machinery well (Tygistor and Yinha were made by the people in Shattered Hand, iirc?).
Anywho, I hope this discussion really continues. I love speculation.
