Brightness/Gamma settings

Hello all im not technically new to RoM i have played some before but only recently got serious about it. Im having a problem with the games brightness/gamma or lack of setting for this. I have searched the forums and google and cant find an answer. I know the game has no setting for brightness which is causing me a serious problem. When questing in almost all zones when it is night in game (and it is pretty much anytime i play) i am unable to see mobs until im up on them and navigating is darn near impossible as i cant see the road or where im walking. I have tested this in my desktop, my wifes hp touchsmart desktop and my dell laptop all with the same result (the laptop being the best light wise but still way to dark). Is there any addons or mods (legal and not breaking the ToS) that can help me in this situation. This is a make or break deal for me and RoM because if i cant see what im doing then theres not much use in playing and i really like this game, i played WoW for 6 years and left due to the recent *cough* upgrades that made the game feel like autoplay (no challenge anymore) and ive tried several other games but have settled on RoM as my favorite. I appreciate any help and thank you all, just in case someone needs it my specs are as follows

Desktop
Intel celeron 450 2.2Ghz (Celeron i know but please no one blame this for the video being dark it runs fine)
2gb ddr 2 533Mhz Ram

Win 7 32bit

Touchsmart
intel core 2 duo 2.2 Ghz
3gb ddr 2 667Mhz ram
intel gma 4500 onboard video
Win 7 32 bit

Laptop

I also run into that issue, Best workaround I've found is to open up the ATI control center and adjust that when it it gets to dark to see. You're looking for display color, under my digital flat panels, just adjust at night. I haven't tried but understand you can set it up to use a hot key for switching between your day and night settings.

I seriously hate the day-night cycle on MMO's. If you're looking for 'realism' You don't walk for 6 days and 5 nights in real life, why the ____ would you want to experience 5 nights in an hours play time??????. At least give the choice to turn it off for people who's idea of realism means a day/night cycle should have some relationship to wake/sleep cycles
