Noob Questions.

Well 90% of my Guild on WoW quit because of the new expansion (Lawl Pandas...) and a few of them got hooked on this game they keep saying that it's alot like old WoW so I decided too try it out...Well I have a few questions for you all...

1.Whats the top healing combo for Priests I know from research that you get class combos or whatever in this game I loved raid healing on my Priest in WoW so I plan too play one in this game so... what's the best combo for that type of thing.

2.Pvp or Pve server, Don't get me wrong I'm no carebear I've always played on Pvp servers in WoW I've just heard that the pvp in this game really sucks and that pvp servers have really bad population.

3.How's raiding in this game I LOVED raiding in WoW so how is the endgame content in this game is there many hardcore guilds for raiding etc etc...

4.How's the community in this game, I am hoping too find less trolls in this game that don't freak out on vent that I'm a girl playing, the community in WoW is full of 15 year old trolls.

Anyways thanks in advance sorry for me being a noob lol.

1. The top healing priest is Priest/Knight, you can look at its elite skills here: http://www.theromwiki.com/Priest_Elite_Skills

2. Pve, the pvp servers population is very low and there isn't much sign of a merger as of right now... You can get your pvp fix in the battlegrounds or siege, which is like a nightly war between your guild and another guild.

3. There is usually always another dungeon to work towards. Only the very top people can run the final instance right now.

4. I can't compare it to wow, because I only played that for a couple months, but there are definitely some really helpful people around. There are obviously trolls and annoying people, as with any other game, but if you get in with a good guild you can really make some friends =] good luck!

First as having played WoW for quite a long time (cata killed it for me), I would recomend a Pve server also. The PvP servers here are dead or dying.
The class combo system lets you do pretty much any role that a single class in WoW would with a bit of caveates.
RoM is pretty much Cash Shop Driven. But I would not recommend you do anything to your armor until you hit at least level 60+. It will save you gold and RL Money that way.
About the only things that I do recommend from the cash shop from the start are these: a permament mount, megaphones, transport runes, Home sweet Home runes, and guild transport runes. Not much else will be of use for you until you hit level 60+.
Always do the dailies, they reward you with Phirius Tokens which can be spent in the cash shop along with diamonds. Which again can save you rl money.
As far as buying diamonds go be careful. If possible only buy them when they go on sale. Do not do any free diamond giveaway offers that Frogster does not point you towards. Only buy enough that you will use and try not to stock up on too many.
RoM, although it has only 2 races (soon to be 3, damn dirty dwarfs) has no racial abilities like WoW. So choosing a race is a non issue. Once you choose your race do every quest you see. Once you can get a second class go to the starting area of the other race and do those quests on your second class to level it up.
On some servers the AH prices are out of control so avoid it if you can until you hit at least level 60. Crafting is a bit wierd here.
If I think of more I woill post it.
As far as servers go pick one with a lower population or you may find yourself not beign able to log on at times (some events bring out the crowds big time). SO I will recommend Reni due to its lower population count.
Guilds. Truthfully there are way too many in RoM seems everyday someone is making a new one. If you can, find a guild to join and stay there. There are quite a few good ones and some that are just idle that may welcome some new players into them. Ask around ingame and you may find one that would accept you and your friends.
If I think of more i will post it.

First as far as classes the best thing to do is not have 2 that use the same pool of skill juice (mana for example). On my main I only have 2 classes seeing as I prefer to only be a ranged DPS (mage). Others might have their own opinions about this but for now stick with just 2 and work on learning those before you grab a third. Once you ahve gotten the third class then go to Coast of Opportunity to level it. Do not waste the quests on either of you main classes or you may not be able to level up that third class easily.

Also the only noob question is one not asked. :)

Best priest combo is debatable, I am biased towards my own combo (that's why I play it lol). There are quite a few P/S walking around but most of them are waiting to shoot an ice blade at something lol

I started playing this game a few days out of beta on a PVP server... being killed while checking my mail wasn't my cup of tea so I headed to a PVE server (Govinda) checking mail was peaceful again :o If you must get your PVP fix... in addition to siege and the battlefield there is an option to war other guilds. Once you declare war on another guild they are fair game anywhere they may be on the server... except their house. Sometimes they get mad or QQ which makes you want to kill them again lol

The dungeons are not bad, they are best completed at level or close.. the higher instances (dungeons) can be challenging but if you go with a good group of people it should be a lot of fun.

I cannot speak for other servers but the community on Govinda is helpful and friendly. Most everyone gets along although once and a while the occasional jerk-faced troll crawls out from under the bridge.

As for being female... choose an androgynous name, let everyone think you are a big burly man then tell them you are taking hormone shots to change the pitch of your voice lol

Good luck :o

there are lots of good healing combos in this game, the most seen is

P/s
p/k
d/s

since i never played any healer in this game i'm not gonna say 1 is better than the other

but d/s and p/s got the extra itemslot for more runes and stats

however there are lots of more rare combos for healers that have thier pros and cons

p/r for example gets lots of cast speed increase (can use offhand to stats so basically you heal as good as a 2hand staff but gets another piece to stats aswell as more rune slots), aswell as magic crit buff to party, also the 50/50 skill gives 10% matt to the party which is also very nice for mages

one more thing, get it touch with forums if you like to do it, many great people lurk here too

Don't worry about being a girl...not all that unusual. I have 3+ females in my guild that regularly talk on vent...so not really a problem.

And most of the trolls here stay under their bridges for the most part...pretty good community.
my r/p can outdps r/m. your name is stupid.

If you find yourself on Govinda look us up http://heavensfury.guildportal.com

I will explain the most important feature of this game...... the wardrobe function! You can mix and match and colorize your outfit on all the toons on your account. Goodbye tastless, tacky toon... hello matching outfits!!! lol

At one time 75% of our guild was female.. I thought all guilds were like that lol

I second (third?) the motion to choose Govinda. Tons of helpful people. RoM has a great community too - one of the best in any mmo I've played. I'd be willing to show you around, answer any questions you have, as well. Feel free to add any of the characters in my siggy, although I'll mostly be on in the evenings. :D

The RoM wiki (http://www.theromwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page) and database (http://www.runesdatabase.com/) are your best sources of information and the forum has tons of opinions and class/gameplay guides if you're feeling overwhelmed.

Welcome to RoM!

Welcome to the game! I myself only started playing about 6 months ago and not having played any game in I would say about 7 years or so and have loved getting back into the whole thing. My BF on the other hand has been playing about 2 years and we are one of those "idle" guilds as most of the previous members have left the game for others and its kinda hard to level up a guild and do Seige's with only two people online...lol...but I would agree with most of the agreements that others have already made but I would disagree about staying away from the AH. For purchasing yes I agree that the AH can be pretty outrageously priced on most things but I have found benefit in catching "magic cavy's" and selling the pet eggs in the AH, depending on the type of egg as well as the type of pet it contains can range in price starting from $5000 some even pulling a price of up to 5mil. so can be a good fast way to build up gold on an account. Also I have gotten really into the use of the Pets in the game they provide different buffs and most that I have experienced boost HP with is always useful IMO (they can also do your harvesting for you while they are NOT summoned). These are just a few things that I found helpful along the way.
