Combat Combos...? (Not Class Combos)

I was looking for information on the impact of weapon skills on weapon damage (if anyone happens to want to give me a quick answer on how important the skill is here, feel free) and stumbled across this wiki page that had an intriguing section in it...

It is important in any case to keep an eye on the interaction of the elements. Every attack is assigned to a hidden element and certain sequences of elements have magical effects. They are quite inconspicuous for short combinations, but the longer the sequence is the more spectacular they become. The mixture of elements on the target is essential and groups of adventurers can work together tactically to generate extra damage and special effects ranging from fear to fields of flames. But first they have to find out which combinations have an effect at all.

And that's when I said to myself, 'whoa, whoa, whoa! Back up! Is this something I had no clue about before?'

At first glance it looks like something that is referring to, say, the extra damage you get from using Wound Attack on a mob that's already bleeding. When I read it again, though, it seemed like it was hinting at something else altogether, something more intricate and hidden.

So what's this all about? Have I become a crazy conspiracy theorist or is there something to it? When I put 'runes of magic combo' into google, all I get is pages and pages talking about class combos, not combat combos, so I figured I'd go ahead and ask here.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

I have not heard of any elemental combonations, but this is the wiki, it can be edited by anyone, the person who made this contribution hasn't made any contributions since 2009.

After reading this from the same page

When an adventurer loses a battle and dies, Ayvenas summons him to his realm. After what seems to be only a short time, the deceased finds himself at one of the holy stone circles. They can never remember their voyage through the realm of the dead, and they are generally quite dizzy and weak, and should rest a while

It's very flowery language and a bit unnecessary.

Also personally I've never heard of any player being able to use fear on a monster much less another player, but yeah this person made contributions in 2009, so you'd have to ask them about what they were talking about.

I did some more poking around and it looks like the wiki page was copied pretty much verbatim from the official RoM pages on the combat features:

http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/articles,id26,0,combat.html

I'm guessing that since no one has said 'yes, Combos exist,' that they're not in the game. I have to wonder if maybe they were a planned feature at the time the article was written, though? I hope a higher-up notices this thread so they can answer that for sure. Would have been an interesting feature!

(Or maybe it's there and no one has discovered it... hee.)

Anyway, thanks for the answer, Kefkai! If anyone has any further comment, it is more than welcome.
