Wardrobe question:

I am trying to find out what can and cannot go in the wardrobe. At first, I could put anything in it, it would remove the stats, and keep it as a costume piece. Now, anything I try and put in, it says it does not exist, and advanced aggregator. Has the costuming system changed? Or do I need to go to the tech forum? My husband has the same issue.

I was able to put in an item into wardrobe 2 days ago, so It still works the same way . Not sure why you're not able to put items in though.

You should be able to put in costume pieces for free, everything else should cost an Advanced Aggregator.

Were you previously putting in statted item-shop costumes?

I was putting in drop items that were statted, and as Kalvan stated here: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=70488

This especially goes for wings, or for any item which you've statted or enhanced. [/COLOR]

You should be able to put statted items in, or this would not have been specified.

Er, yes to what part of what I said? I don't get quite what you mean. And the link you have linked is giving me a 404 error.

So to hide my incomprehension, I'll just type for a bit and hope that a score with a wild stab in the dark, like our Roguey cousins.

Wings are item shop costumes. We stat them directly, so we can add them to the wardrobe without an aggegrator, but we lost the stats, refining levels, etc. Other item shop costumes are the same, but we rarely stat them directly (PvP servers not withstanding for PK characters as they do not drop). Normally we use an Aggregator first, so these items, though they are skinned should cost an Aggregator to put in the Wardrobe. Perhaps though, they don't as they just stick the skin in, and it is already item shop bought. I don't know how this would work, and I don't want to risk with my own equipment.

Normal gear with normal skins will cost an Advanced Aggregator to go into the Wardrobe.

Has my disordered and hopelessly qualified information helped you at all?

What you said makes sense, except I was first able to add items to the wardrobe that were not item shop items. (I've never bought item shop cosmetics). So it must have changed or something.

I'm not sure where Keyshana found the link she posted. It gives me a 404 error, as well. But she may have intended it to be this one: http://forum.us.runesofmagic.com/showthr…ll=1#post523257

All I was trying to do was to warn people that anything that is placed into the Magic Wardrobe is there, for all intents, permanently, and cannot be recovered and returned to your backpack or other storage.

I believe what KatalanOrk said above is accurate. I haven't played much with the MW, other than to drop costume items into it. I do know from direct communication with Nytefall that if you stat and enhance a set of wings, then put them into the MW, they're not only there forever, but the stats and enhancements are nullified. In addition, Support can not and will not retrieve or replace the wings, stats, or enhancements.

IMO (I think I'm allowed to have an opinion here, maybe), the MW is intended for use with costume items so you can rapidly change your appearance to suit your whims. While you can use an Aggregator or Advanced Aggregator to "skin" a gear piece (armor or weapon--I don't know anyone who uses them on accessories), and that this might or would allow you to place a skinned armor piece into the MW, I'd recommend against it. Especially if the skinned piece has been statted or enhanced, as I think those qualities (along with any innate stats which the piece would have) would be nullified, as per with wings.

Just be careful using the MW and remember that what goes in it stays in it, and may be forever changed by it.

Thank you, Kalvan, that was what I was trying to link to. What I did, was put a few of my lower pieces of gear that I liked the look of, but dd not want due to the stats not being as good as what I had, into the wardrobe. it wiped the stats and made them cosmetic. Now I cannot do that. So must have been a glitch that let me, or something.

Thanks, all.

Do you have an advanced aggregator in your backpack? You need to have one in order to put regular gear items into the wardrobe. What probably happened earlier is that you had adv aggregators and that is how you were able to put your gear in, now they are used up and you cannot put gear in the wardrobe until you obtain new adv aggregators.

Auros is exactly right. I just tested this myself. If you try to place an item in the wardrobe you will receive a message that says you are missing advanced aggregator. Once you have an advanced aggregator in your bag and put an item in the wardrobe you will receive another confirmation message. If you accept, the item becomes just like any other costume piece and can be recolored, et cetera.
