Make me like this game

I have played this game long enough to have a 14/11 W/S. So far I do not care much for the game. I really do not enjoy the cartoon graphics. I do not enjoy creatures that respawn 30 seconds after I kill them. My one-room house is a big disappointment. Most of the quests have been pretty lame but at least they do follow a coherent track. Crafting is a big disappointment. Control of the toon is sub-par. Emotes that I have tried are lackluster.
Does this game get any better further along? If so how? I really want to like this game and to continue playing it, but at this point, I am just going to let it simmer... unless someone can make me see it in a better way.

Its free :D well, kinda... Its one of those few games that allow you to (in theory), enjoy 100% content with no restrictions to non playing players.

Are your graphics set to the lowest? RoM on high graphics looks pretty nice, although not many people have access to it. i just raise Texture Details as high as I can, and have everything else at lowest. Game doesn't look too bad, unless compared to video games or those MMO's that just got relesed this year.

The starter zones are indeed pretty boring. Most of the zones after that, except AV, have pretty lackluster questlines (although the storyline gets a little improved). Instances are pretty fun, actually, but gearing up to be able to run instances will take awhile.

I really do not enjoy the cartoon graphics.

That is a big reason why I cannot stand WoW. I much prefer the characters in RoM, LotRO, etc who are at least correctly proportioned and don't look like they've been drawn in with crayons.

Yep, support is superb, you can create ticket and wait for a weeks for them to answer that they can't help you because they are following 'procedure'.

Prices are rising since Frogster EU took over - not something you will find everywhere.

We have more and more accounts hacked (last night for 3 hours I was online 3 different accounts sold gold)...

Only way to trade in game for DIAS is to trust sellers as there is no feature to pay for what you got.

Only in RoM sales department would place the same fail item over and over in CS, while none of suggested items by player base got there...

We are part of someones high school project in sales department where they lower time frame you can buy DIAS from previous weekend long to 1 hour in hope everyone will run and get DIAS. (or they will get ya)

As you might notice, my only problems are really with support and current game leads. Game itself is interesting, rewarding and even crafting might be fun, if anyone at those mentioned above would care to fix it...

AS for monsters, at your level go to front of HOS and enter it... let us know if you like monsters in there... (north from Varenas, next to the path into Savage Land)

you're 14/11... i'm not even gonna bother with trying to convince someone to give this game a shot till they've reached 20/20. Anything before that is just basic training.

W8! Is there HoS room in savage lands? I went there yesterday and haven't spotted. So far I only know the one near oblivion shrine.

You can get to HoS from either Silverspring or Savage lands, the cave goes through from one to the other, you turn in the middle to get to HoS.

Well, 14/11 can be reached very fast in this game, so I would just suggest to give it more time and see if this game is working out for you. But it seems to me you expected more of this game then it is delivering to you and I am sorry to hear that.

As already stated by others, the graphics and engine do look very nice on higher settings, but if it is the colors and general flair of the game you do not like, I am afraid there is not much we can do about that. I too do not play certain games, simply because their candy colors do not appeal to me or the character customization is not in a style I like. Some games i still gave it a shot anyways and the progress and community of the game convinced me otherwise.

You also always have the option to make suggestions of improvement on our forums :)

The houses can be adjusted with house contracts, to look different then the original one you get, and quite a few of our players have done real miracles to their houses, making them look quite cozy and following a theme.

The quest-lines are story-driven and do follow a story-line in most cases, and we try to make them fun and full of variety. We can not reinvent the wheel though ^^

Crafting is a big point of discussion in almost every MMO I ever played. We have a lot of suggestions for improving it in the long run. Still, crafting is not for everyone, and if the given crafting mechanics do not appeal to you it might be better to concentrate on other aspects of the game.

I am not sure what issues you have with the controls or our emotes. I find some of the emotes quite useful, although I too sometimes wish for more interactive ones ;)

The respawn timers of creatures vary, some respawn very fast, some take longer to appear, making them rare. If you find yourself overrun in a zone by a mob group, it might be a good time to look for group members to assist you.

Bottom line is, give it a bit more time, find yourself some friends and a guild, participate in a community and see if it works out for you. Not every game is for everyone, there will always be things that could be "like they are in this famous MMO or that famous RPG" or different.

Time will tell if you like RoM and the coming development enough to stick around. The community alone sure is worth it! :)
