Wings question

Hey all, just a couple of questions I have with regards to wings:

1. Is +16 the highest is possible, or are there higher that isn't available at the moment? (this question doesn't just apply to wings).

2. What does wings aggregate with? As far as I can see there are no normal back pieces of gear apart from wings?

3. Is there a guide on forums about how Enchanting, Runes and Aggregators work? I am interested specifically about the Maximum number of enchant, how to enchant, how to remove runes and how to 'un-aggregate'.

1) +20 is possible, but jewels higher than +16 were never for sale in US

2) Ignore the stupid aggregator message. It was wrong, it is wrong, it will be wrong in foreseeable future.

3) Yeah, there is guide to enchanting gear in guide forum. But wings are easy. They are never OD (with very rare exception), the tier on them does not matter. So, you just plus them for XP/TP/Drop bonus, stat them and add runes. IMO, plussing them is only marginally useful, so +16 wings would be down on my list of things to +16. Remove runes is shift-right click. And there is no such thing as un-aggregate.

So in essence, if I am to interpret your post correctly, that if I aggregate 2 items together, I lose both of the items, and create a new item with stats of one and the looks of the other?

Can an aggregated item be aggregated again?

yes to both...

but when it comes to aggregating id rather use wardrobe, stat some ugly cheap wings (ie. little devils) and put some beautiful and interesting ones in wardrobe, and if you have more than 2 you can switch between them without the need for agg stones since wardrobe is such an awesome feature.

if i were u id only use aggregating stones for weapons n' shields since those are only things that cant be put into wardrobe

Yes. Essentially each item consists of two parts. One is the functionality - stats, plussing, runes, etc. One is the skin - the appearance. Aggregator takes skin from one item and discards its functionality; and it takes functionality of the second item and discards its skin.

In practical terms, people think of functionality as the item, so aggregator is usually seen as preserving the item and just replacing its skin. But if you want to think of it as destroying both items and creating new one, that works as well.

The new item is just as valid as the old one (ones). The skin on it can be replaced again and again.

Finally, if you haven't done so already, check magic wardrobe. It is a collection of skins. Once you place a skin into magic wardrobe, you can apply it to any item you are wearing in the right slot. The original item is preserved with its original skin, the magic wardrobe just lets you show different skin.

It is very convenient - you can have several skin collections (costumes) and apply them to anything you are wearing at the time. That solves the common problem we used to have. What used to happen is that when you agged your favorite skin, such as pumpkin head, on your level 55 helm, and you were ready to replace it with L65 helm, you could not carry it to the new helm. The only way you could do it was to agg that L55 helm onto the new one, but that destroyed the functionality of the helm, all plussing, stats, etc. So, you had to forego that look. Now, with magic wardrobe, you have it on any piece of gear you have on.

Two more things, I can't seem to find the answers on the forum guide:

1. How many Mana Stone Tier stats can one have on an item?

2. Is it possible to somehow 'undo' a Mana stone tiering? I don't care about not being able to get the mana stone back, Let's just say I stated my wings for a Mage, and then later down the line I have a change of Heart and want to go physical stats instead, is that possible without destroying the wings?

6 stats, and yes you can remove them, but it would be very expensive, probably cheaper to get new wings.

Yeah, attribute purifying stone will clean all the stats off wings. What you will find, though, is that it is very wasteful. Nobody cares what your wings look like. In fact, your wings should be hidden, and if they are not, you will often be asked to hide them. So, to destroy tens of millions of gold worth of stats just to preserve look that you are hiding anyway is misuse of resources. Better to sell them and get new wings, especially if you go with cheap little devil wings or they have 1 dia wings sale again.

Right, I do have another question:

When this thread was going, due to some Compulsive disorder, I got 2 wings to +16, so I figured that I may as well stat them. RIght now I am looking at stating them to 1 physical and 1 Magical based stat. I have a reasonably good idea with what I want on the magic Side (INT, Stam, MA and Pdef, stuff that helps with leveling and eventually endgame too), but I am somewhat clueless about how to stat the physical one. I was looking at a balanced mix of Dex and Str, but perhaps there are better suggestions?

Lastly, this is more generic: How often do 1) Mages and 2) Healer priests/wardens stat wisdom? Personal preference or is there a general consensus?

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask what classes you're playing...

Oops! *Embarrased* >.<

I play Mage/Priest/Knight right now, probably going to concentrate on M/P as 'Main Spec' and P/K Healer as 'Off spec'.

the other Physical attack question, assume I'd be going for Scout/Warden/X

For Mage hmmm. You want these for leveling purposes? Go stam, hp, int, mattack, def. Stam is nice when you're a little 'un.

For Scout stam, hp, pattack, dex, def.

You can skip the def, but def stats are cheap and cheap is nice.

Most endgame mages skip wisdom entirely, but a few use a very little. Say, two wis stats total. Most mages get enough mana from int, and enough magical accuracy from their gear's ghost stats.

Would def still retain their use during endgame raids? Since I am not farmiliar with RoM raiding mechanics, but it gives me an impression that survivability is quite important in RoM, perhaps on par with DPS. (unlike WoW, where DPS survivability is totally neglected in favor of maximising DPS).
