CharPlan vs DungeonLoots vs ItemPreview

Has anyone tried or use all 3 of these often, just wondering what's the pros & cons of each & whatever....

(trying to cut down on my addons list, I'm beginning to get those execution errors or whatever that green glowy icon is underneath pbinfo's icon a little too often lately)

I use Char Plan and Dungeon Loots.

Char Plan is more or less a more convenient version of the old RoM Armory sandbox. It's glorious, takes up very little space, doesn't need tons of time (really, any time at all) to download unlike Item Preview and Item Forge.

Dungeon Loots is also beyond wonderful, very low profile, takes up no space and only does what I want it to do, which is tell me what loot this boss drops and what it will look like when I +16 and tier it.

I highly recommend both addons.

Item Preview on the other hand, has a reputation for being a diva and taking forever to download, and having a big ugly interface. Opinions may vary, but I can live without it.

im still on ItemPreview, for me its just the most handy version of looking deeper into items ingame that are not already available. And IP is a small download on its own, but after the first start it will take a few minutes to build up its database.

CharPlan is nice if you want a RoMArmory replacement as an ingame addon, though its not yet perfect with all the calculations.

DungeonLoots is like IP with links to the actual location of the drop (but afaik you cant look just randomly for any item in the DB? dunno) but i dont need it for myself. Props to the creator because he's on my server, though :D

And i've heard there's again a website-version for things like CharPlan on the way and not too far from being finished (so yes maybe there will be soon a web-based Armory replacement, but i dont know any ETA atm).

All 3 are usable though, but depend on what you need.

One more thing for itempreview, if you do get it, you are going to want the modified version found somewhere on the eu forums i think. The old one takes a longer time modifying (ie plussing/tiering) items and messes up plussing +16. The file sizes are small so it doesn't take a long time to download. I think fan might be referring to the time it takes to compile to entire list of everything in the data base when you open it for the first time, that does indeed take a while.

I mainly like itempreview because it allows you to search for anything at all in the rom database (including skills, gear, mounts, etc and things that are currently unreleased).

As a side note, it also works well with itemforge...although i pretty much use it exclusively for trolling purposes, since you can make anything look legit, or just rename stuff (like changing card names to pokemon creatures and attempting to sell them in world, or renaming the item gazelle feces to the name of a guildy...not that anyone would do such a thing)
