what most people do is pay somebody gold to "gift" a cash shop item to them. this works great but you have to make sure you are dealing with a reputable diamond seller before you buy to prevent from getting scammed. this method makes it so that you don't buy the CS item directly, but you pay somebody to buy one and send it to you. price per dia usually varies by server/economy, but on palenque it's about 40-50k each. when buying CS item from other people, i usually send 1/2 the money first and the rest after i receive the item i requested, or if i am buying multiple things, i pay in small amounts after i receive each of the items i requested.

On Reni the cost of CS items per Diamond has been hovering around 25-30k per diamond. And Cike is quite right. Unless you know the seller or get some good reports on the seller send half then after recieving the items send the rest. Most people know who the reputable sellers on Reni are now so getting what you want is not so much a problem. But we do check the level of the buyer jsut in case seeing as lower level players might not be as trustworthy as a higher level player (I sell diamonds on Reni but only to those that I know and trust).

The few times I sold diamonds, if it was to a low level, I wouldn't send any items before receiving the gold. I just didn't trust people enough to risk it, since there are a lot of scammers in RoM. I knew a lot of people that did the same, so it's not unexpected.

If you're buying diamonds, don't buy from anyone below level 60, at the very least. And even then, take caution. Generally, high level players selling diamonds in world chat are trustworthy (and if they're not, it's common to see others warning against buying their diamonds). Especially if you see them as a frequent diamond seller. But don't be surprised if they expect the money first, depending on your level.

On Reni, I will sell diamonds and I will not sell anything until I have the gold. To me, real money is more currency than in-game gold. Some people will balk at first, but just about every person i sell to becomes a repeat buyer.
