Keep in mind Palenque is a Spanish-speaking server. I created a character there and all interfaces and item shop items and more.... all are in Spanish.
Secondly, I moved from Pionner village all the way to silver fall without seeing ONE person. The server is dry and no one even plays. Same goes for Grimdal, if you try to search for dog meat, you'll find none. If you search for Block X, Potential X, you'll find none. If you search for anything related to Shint or Jenny or ToSH related, you won't find them.
PvP servers are dry and I highly recommend not to play on one of those.
As for Indigo and Govinda, yes they're PvE but they're a lot more dry in population compared to reni and artemis... not much to enjoy on those servers unless you like playing man hunt and taking 15 minutes just to find a group for something.
True, true. Yet somehow we manage to keep one or two or sometimes even three guilds in the siege war top 10 at any given time, despite all that.
Population sucks, economy sucks, yup, it's hard as hell to buy anything nifty in the AH- but we keep fighting anyway.
It's hard to defend Palenque, cause most of the accusations leveled at us are true. Why would anyone want to gimp themselves by rolling on a "dead" server? Yet somehow we manage to overcome all that- we even get used to having the Item Shop in Spanish. If you relish a challenge, like a diverse community, and like doing things for yourself instead of preferring to buy your crap off the AH, Palenque may just be for you.
If you can't handle waiting 15 minutes to find a group, if looking at Spanish in world chat gives you hives, and the idea of getting your gear from instance drops instead of the AH makes you shiver... roll on Artemis.
Believe it or not, the AH is not the only source for Shint's and Jenny's gear. Having to actually go get your own stuff is a great motivator.
I'm sure someone from Govinda can hop on here to defend themselves, but Govinda's never had any problems dominating the siege war charts (Valk, anyone?) so I guess server population isn't necessarily the only criteria for judging server awesomeness. I wouldn't get too smug, Artemisians. Yup, we all know you're great (PPK undeniably is), but a lot of you make a pretty satisfying squishing noise in siege.
PPK isn't great cause they're on Artemis, just like Valk wasn't great just cause they were on Govinda. They're great because they have smart, dedicated players who know how to play, and any server can acquire that, no matter what language they speak or how big their population is.
