World Search Not Telling Me About Available Quests

So, I'm wandering around Howling Mountains with a level 17 character. I used World Search - Available Quests - selecting "quests for this zone". All I see are "Pioneers Colony Bulletin Board" and "Dimitar Windwhisperer". I have not checked "Hide low level quests"

1. Pioneers colony bulletin board would be a source of daily quests. The _Logar_ bulletin board is probably missing simply because I've accepted those quests.
2. Dimitar Windwhisperer gives out quests for making musical instruments, requiring materials I don't have and can't yet get; I'm ignoring those for now.

So, I start to conclude that there are no more quests left in the area, except possibly hidden quests.

But:

1. I keep getting warned that I'm getting close to "Bubistan". That smells like a quest boss to me; where is the quest?
2. I found the following in the hidden quest list:

Quoted

Howling Mountains
  • During the quest "Destruction of the Gathering Magic", Logar's skeleton will drop into your backpack. Right click it to accept "Return of the Hero"

I've never seen or been offered "Destruction of the Gathering Magic".

Farther investigation gave me other quests that appear to belong in Howling Mountains, which I haven't seen, e.g.
- Dion and the Spear of Logar

Dion and the spear of Logar offers a measly 104 xp, so I can't believe it requires more than level 17.

This investigation involved web pages and an old version of advanced quest book. Could they both be out of date? And the hidden quest list as well? Or is three something strange going on here?

Thanks again for any light you can shed on this.

The one that you are getting warned about is not a quest boss. It is a zone rare spawn and for now you might want to avoid him. You cna always come back later and kill him when you are a lot higher in levels but for now jsut ignoe those messages. You should head to silverspring and Varanas for the next part of your questing. There are actually some that will send you there from Howling Mountians.

At least one missing quest isn't being offered

One clear example - According to http://www.runesdatabase.com/quest/42008…er%27s-distress, "A Father's Distress" should be available from George, in Logar at level 6. I'm not being offered this quest, and I'm pretty sure I haven't done it.

I can understand not having an ! on the quest-offering NPC, since I'm more than 10 levels above the minimum start level. But there's nothing in the NPC dialog either.

I am just gonna ask the obvious. Do you have a second class? Some of the Logar quests do not become available until you choose/have active a secondary class.

Ah, I had no idea of that. I don't have a second class yet - I'm 17/0/0.

Time to move on to Varanas and come back once I have that second class, I guess. (Am I correct that I need to reach level 20 before I can take a second class, or am I misremembering?)

No, you need level 10 to choose second class and level 20/20 to choose a third.

Second class is available at level 10 - you should have had a pop-up on your screen to point that out to you.

Kista is correct about half of the Howling Mountains quests not showing up until you have your second class. This is a hangover from the days when Howling Mountains & Silverspring were the only 2 zones in the game & you had to level 2 classes somehow.
