I have been trying to pick a class, need some help

Hello, I have been trying to pick a class for a good two hours now and I'm stuck between m/p and m/k. Can any one help me pick one? I'll let you know what I like below:

Good DPS- I like to do a good amount of damage, but its not what I'm all about.
Solo-bility- I have fun is partys, but when necessarily (particularly earily game) I like the option to solo.
Fun end game- It takes time to get to the end game I understand, but when I do get there I want the fun to keep going.
Usefulness-I like to have some use in a party not just that guy we are dragging along.

Well buddy, I need you to tell us 1st what class you would like to be your primary.
Mage?.
Mage/warrior is a beast in boss fights.
Mage/Druid is has magma blade that hits like a truck and can heal oneself and others.
Well if you are in OSHA, I can recommend you a Magei know who knows his Mage class well.

Well as stated above "m/p m/k" as in Mage/priest or Mage/Knight I have looked both of them up, and they look like what I want but I'm tied on what one I want.

i'd suggest m/p for starters. easy to learn. both sides share cloth gear and 2h staff. great survival ability from 1-52 without much gearing.

can add /knight as your third class later. just keep in mind that only humans can be knight whereas only elf can be druid.

Instead of informing you on what is a beast and what is not, or which is better, the bottom line is asking what sort of concept is appealing of the two to you.
Mage/Priest are the spellcasters who flourish in ranged magic flame/lightning damage, single and area spells, they also have the ability to heal themselves and others but not to great degree like a primary class Priest. They wear cloth armor and staves are their main weapon of choice.
Mage/Knights are the casters who enjoy armor as a means to increase their survivability. The cast spells sames as a primary mage (above), however they also have melee skills and defensive buffs too. No healing magic.

Hope this short message clears some things up.
Artemis: IGGWILV: M/P/S: M/P + P/S, LORDUTHOR: W/K/R: W/K + W/R, FENGYIKHAN: Wl/M/R: Wl/M + R/Wl

Lol, what?

M/K has higher survivability. They have increased physical defense and get an arsenal of Light skills with added effects like slows and stuns making their solo ability even higher. The down side to M/K is that they cannot heal themselves and do not have any kind of immunity to damage.

M/P has higher utility. Although this class is overplayed, it has much better group utility with a magic attack buff for allies. In addition to magic attack boosting, they also have the ability to heal and can be immune to damage for 5 seconds. On the downside, this combination has cloth defense and crumbles under physical attacks.

I suggest that you start out with M/P and pick Knight as your 3rd class for later. M/P is very friendly for new players and is very simple to play. M/K is more for endgame material, I suggest you pick this up after you get into the level 55+ range.

I agree. M/P is a good "training-wheels" type of class because it's easy to solo with. M/K is harder to solo (albeit slightly because they don't have heals) but, imo, it's much more fun.

So I agree - try out M/P first and then get a /K third.

Terenth P/K/M

Darkorchid Wd/R/W
And a K/M/S, P/W/M, D/R/S, W/R, R/S, M/Ch and innumerable level-one alts.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful feed back! I'm going with M/P to start and then adding /K at the end. (Something I had no idea you could do)

I am R/S and I have 3 main alts at L70. Here is my impression

Alt 1 is P/M (and M/P). Not too bad, but he had trouble at the end. Might be because he is more P/M than M/P

Alt 2 is Wd/S. There is one main thing about Wd/S that makes it worth playing, IMO. Chiron is Wd/S specific pet at level 30 and he rocks. Pretty easy leveling to 70 with minimal gearing besides the quest gear.

Alt 3 is R/S. Very good combo, but he was having issues with quest gear. Till I passed some of my old hand me downs, he was not doing as well as Wd/S.

Now, there is an issue of them being alts and not geared. There is more to game than getting to L70, sure. Still, if I needed another alt, I probably would make another Wd/S.
-- Rustyx --- 92R / 92S / 92M on Reni (Guild KnightShift). Yes, running the new FOTM R/M, cause I am not elf enough to be WD/S.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

My dear Rossbot,

Knights do have Charge and Whirlwind shield, both skills are in-your-face DPS skills as in melee attacks.
