I have not reinstalled the game yet, because after i click run, it asks me to choose a folder, and no matter what folder i choose, it tells me that I have "insufficient permission" to download the data into that location, though my user is already an admin.
So as of now, I'm still playing my old RoM.exe (which is still there on my desktop after the uninstall and still seems to work). So I don't think water textures are fixed yet, since its still the exact same thing.
Well, there really was no need for you to remove (uninstall) the existing RoM game in order to install the newer Chapter V client files. But seeing as you're having some issues, I'll see what I can do to help you.
First, navigate to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86), depending on whether you're using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. Find the Runes of Magic folder. If you're using any addons that you wish to keep, open the RoM folder and then move or copy the \Interface\Addons folder to another location on your HDD. Then, delete the RoM folder.
Back out of that, and drag the Desktop RoM icon to your Trashcan, then empty the Trashcan.
If you haven't yet downloaded the Chapter V installation files, do so. When the FOG downloader prompts you, begin the installation progress by telling it to install the game in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86), as needed. If you get a permissions error, as you described above, cancel the installation, then navigate to the folder where the installation files are located. Find the file named ROM_Setup.exe and right click on it. Select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu. This
should[/'b] work. Once the game is installed and the new RoM Desktop icon is in place, do the same with it--right click, Run as Administrator.
You don't need to delete the character data information that's stored elsewhere.
Let me know if this helps.
