Uninstalled RoM - But its still there

I was trying to uninstalled RoM and reinstall to fix the water textures, but after i uninstalled RoM, all my RoM folders are still there, and my RoM clinet skill loads the game

Is this supposed to happen? Or did I uninstall something else?

If the textures are fixed you did it right. Uninstalling usually does not delete the character folders.
What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

A bit more clarification can help a lot.

Did you re-install the game?
Otherwise, if you do not see the icon on your Uninstall programs list, I suggest you delete Runes of Magic folder (excluding for your add-ons folder) and re-install it.

I have not reinstalled the game yet, because after i click run, it asks me to choose a folder, and no matter what folder i choose, it tells me that I have "insufficient permission" to download the data into that location, though my user is already an admin.

So as of now, I'm still playing my old RoM.exe (which is still there on my desktop after the uninstall and still seems to work). So I don't think water textures are fixed yet, since its still the exact same thing.

Probably a permissions error - as you can't install, your PC probably didn't let you uninstall either. I would recommend something like RevoUninstaller but I am not entirely sure that is of benefit as even if it works, you aren't actually any further forward.

Well, there really was no need for you to remove (uninstall) the existing RoM game in order to install the newer Chapter V client files. But seeing as you're having some issues, I'll see what I can do to help you.

First, navigate to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86), depending on whether you're using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. Find the Runes of Magic folder. If you're using any addons that you wish to keep, open the RoM folder and then move or copy the \Interface\Addons folder to another location on your HDD. Then, delete the RoM folder.

Back out of that, and drag the Desktop RoM icon to your Trashcan, then empty the Trashcan.

If you haven't yet downloaded the Chapter V installation files, do so. When the FOG downloader prompts you, begin the installation progress by telling it to install the game in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86), as needed. If you get a permissions error, as you described above, cancel the installation, then navigate to the folder where the installation files are located. Find the file named ROM_Setup.exe and right click on it. Select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu. This should[/'b] work. Once the game is installed and the new RoM Desktop icon is in place, do the same with it--right click, Run as Administrator.

You don't need to delete the character data information that's stored elsewhere.

Let me know if this helps.

Would have been nice to use the opportunity to defrag prior to install....but that is just something I always recommend.

In windows 7 several folders are protected, such as "Program Files", "Windows","Users" and "Documents and Settiings". On these folders you must always run as administrator, that's why I have a game folder on root. I have RoM installed on 2 PCs, When I need to update I just do on 1 pc and copy entire folder to the other PC and I can run without any problem.

Ok, I've got the new RoM downloaded, but there's another problem... lol.
I used to change RoM to high priority to get that extra few running speed, but now it will not allow me to do that anymore. :(

says "operation cannot be completed, access is denied"
New RoM is set as Run as admin as well.
And I can still change priority of other programs, like internet. Just not RoM.

Edit: nvm, I removed the run as admin and it allowed me to change priority.
