AAH Filter for alpitude and pet question

It there a way to use Advanced AH to filter for pets with only alpitude about 79?
I saw an alpitude filter when I scrolled my mouse over filter, but it says filters for alpitude about 0, and I thought all pets have alp above 0?

And I am lost as to where to take my pet lol. I've read Vfwiffo's guide, but all the info and options made me pretty confused. I'm not sure what to do first.

I've bought a holy pet egg, fire type (for mage), and parrot, hatched it.
Current Alp is 79.
So... what should i do now lol.

Read the tooltip again. It explains how to use a number on the filter to get the aptitude you want.

Next thing to do is chain merge (and collect golden eggs daily for the potions). The only apt you need to worry about, in AH, is for blue rune pets. They can come with apt as high as 99, so low level high apt blue rune pet can boost your aptitude without chain merge. They tend to be expensive, though.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

ok, thanks :)

And another question - I heard there was some item that could make a pet's type into none. Should I buy high alp pets of other types, use that to make it none so I can merge it with my main pet type? Or should I just wait for high alp fire pets?

now that you got the pet you want the element is the only thing holding you back obviously. You use neutralization bar make it a rune pet and feed it only very high apt pets until you are happy with the outcome. While waiting for your pet to get the highest aptitude possble you create a level 1 rune pet using the higher aptitude eggs that your holy egg is not using. The point with your second rune pet is to merge the highest level rune stats with your holy pet egg early on. You want your holy pet egg to have the highest stats with the highest aptitude. In most cases the best way to do this is to pick one primary pet egg level holy pet eggs make them rune and merge them with the pet you want to use.

Using Neutralization Bars on holy pet eggs would be a waste of money. The only pet eggs worth getting for their aptitude are, as Vfwiffo said, blue rune eggs. All others don't have a high enough apt to make a difference, most of the time. Considering how expensive most holy eggs are, it would only end up costing you more, as opposed to chain merging and using Awakening Potions.

Chain merging is very cheap, it just takes some time to get enough low level eggs to rack up some Training Points. I usually buy the 95+ blue rune pet eggs to merge with my main pet, if my main pet's base Aptitude is 85ish or below. After that, chain merging is your best (and cheapest) bet.
