crafting a blue...what's the diff?

other than a few stat increases in, let's say damage, why is crafting a blue item better? Recently i started crafting in RoM and noticed that some of the blue items i made were actually inferior than some of the normal white's i made? What's the big deal with getting a crafted blue item? I mean it says in the description that it supposed to have random attributes on it (the blue item) but i dont see any, nor do i see a power level increase...so what's the point? why even offer that function to create a blue item, when in fact it's the greens and some whites that actually coming up with random attrib stats on it!!!!? Am i overlooking something?

A couple of things, an over-dura white item will most likely have better base values than an under-dura blue item. If both are over-dura the blue will have better base values.

Clean crafted items (no named stats) are more sought after & therefore are more valuable than items with stats because more (better) stats can be added.

The real difference shows up when you + the item.
