I guess its goodbye then....

The problem is as old as the game.... Only the warning message is new.

Right? People thinking this is something new are only showing that they haven't even been around long enough to know better.

No, I didn't say that, but I did answer the ultimatum in the post.

No you didn't, I did, hence why it was posted under my name and not yours :P XD

I haven't been around long enough to know better than what? So by your logic, instead of showing your frustration you accept the garbage that is shoveled into your mouth? No offense, but it's people like you that lower the standards at which developers operate. No one is forcing me to play RoM, nor any other game so why when a critical error occurs on the CLIENT SIDE! (caps is for the RoM dev's) should i just accept it and keep playing? I play many other games, not a single crash in any of them when a new patch is released. Sure League had some server queue issues, but i didn't crash every hour or so.

I really doubt that's what tmblake09 was saying.

Anyone who's been around here for quite a while knows that RoM has memory issues. It's not news. We've been begging the devs to fix the memory leak for years. Apparently giving us an irritating pop up that is in no way accurate (people are getting this warning at 2gb of usage with 8-16gb of RAM) is their fix.

So yes, those of us who've been around long enough know the real issue behind this won't be fixed. On the other hand, there is an add-on that blocks the pop-up, from what I've read (haven't tried it yet). It can be found on Curse.

Kinda off-topic, but a 32 bit program that does not use fancy memory handling techniques (as RoM does not) can only handle a maximum of around 2Gb of RAM. While playing that vast majority of games, having 16Gb of RAM is only useful for holding other processes.

While many people think they have performance differences between say 4Gb and 16Gb RAM in RoM either just feel good about big numbers, or are doing far too much multi-tasking.

Anywho, so just because an issue has been around for a long time doesn't automatically make it less valid or less serious, or even skews my point in the least. Runes of Magic isn't old, 64 bit operating systems have been the standard since Vista, this game came out in 2009ish when win 7 was around, again this drives my point home...this is a case of lazy programmers not adhering to industry standards....but even this point is trumped by the fact that older games have adapted.

Finally their is one important key underlying note here, this game is a business venture. I input money and expect a service to work as explained to me. From what i understand i am given limited access to a virtual world in which i am allowed to play in, with the non-mandatory option of purchasing items in a cash shop (Pay to win), i gave them some money, not because i want to pay to win...but rather i understand what it takes to run a business....now..fix the effing issue!!!

Frogster doesn't make the game; they only run it. Runewaker in Korea makes the game. And this glitch started with chapter V; it wasn't there before. Something has gone awry, and hopefully Runewaker will be made aware of it and fix it.

This happens mostly when I've just ported or I am near the stupid glitchy water graphics. I know its not me since everyone in the server has had a problem with it. I'm upgrading my computer to a new vid card and 8 ram. I doubt it will make a difference. Game side, not user side. Thanks for the addon tip, that popup is annoying.
