Guilds, mounts, and inventory rental function.

Hey everyone, I'm a new player just returning to the game after several years. I wanted to ask some questions about mounts and the rental function so that I don't end up wasting my diamonds too soon. My main question is if I purchase extra inventory space on one character, can that be transferred to another character if I decided to make a new one later? Or is anything that you buy from the cash shop in this game limited to only the character that you buy it on? I had this same question for mounts too.

I just want to know more about this incase I end up choosing classes that I don't like and have to erase my character and start over again. Maybe I should wait until I'm a much higher level before buying anything from the item shop?

As for guilds, my only question was about buffs. I've noticed in other online games that you get a buff for being in a guild that increases your stats or damage. And the buff is usually stronger or better if the guild is a higher level guild as opposed to a lower level guild. Does Runes of Magic use a similar guild buff system? Or you just get no buffs at all. Figured I would try to find out more before I decide what guild I want to join.

I'll check this post again when I can during the next few days. So if anyone can help answer these questions, I would be grateful for the assistance. take care

Anything you buy from the Item Shop is bound to the one character you buy it for.

The only exception would be costume pieces you put in the Magic Wardrobe which is accessible on every character on the account.

Wow...good questions. Extra inventory space tends to be a requirement if you don't want to run to a vendor every 30 min or so. Some add-ons will help with that but 2 back pack pages do not last long.

As far as item shop stuff...well I have raised 8 or so toons to over lv 55 without using the first diamond. You just level too fast. Mounts are the only thing that is really useful at those levels (more on this in a sec).

O.K. now on to guild info. Yes guilds have buff towers they can put in that give 2 hour buffs to up to 6 different stats plus mount speed. Generally +5% per lv of the tower. Extra TP, extra XP, physical/magical defense, max HP/MP, drop rate bonus and physical/magical attack power. The guild stables also give mount speed increases @ lv 5 stable this is a 6 hour 10% speed bonus. A good guild may also be a good source for low lv gear and free horse rental tickets...or even 30 day mount codes.

If you come on Osha send me a message and I'll answer anymore questions you have.

I'm not sure if I can go to Osha since I have decided to choose Artemis so far. Maybe I will though, who knows. I'm only level 10 and I just picked Artemis since most of the information that I read said it had the highest population for an english PVE server (U.S. server). I could easily just start over again. Usually I don't play on pvp servers in most games.

Is Osha PVE or PVP? I forget now but I'll check it again later. And with guilds, I tend to never use items provided by the guild. I always try to just make it through the game on my own from auctioning or using whatever market systems exist. I have been that way with most mmorpgs that I have ever played.

The buffs however are another story. I try to take advantage of those in most games. Can someone tell me more about them? Like you say it lasts 2 hours for example, but can you get the buff repeatedly, as often as you want it? Or is it just available once a day and gone forever after that? And what is the highest level that a tower can be, and the highest number of them that any guild can get, (in other words, the highest level of buff possible)?

Same question for the stables too, what is the highest level that it can goto? If I decide to stay on Artemis, I'm assuming I should just try to find a guild that has a well established guild castle to get decent buffs. Or I'll look for the same on Osha if I decide to start a character there.

Overall, I was thinking about buying a mount from the store too. Always hated having to run back to town to rent another horse every 1-2 hours. I made alot of gold in the past from auctioning, so I didn't mind the cost of rentals. Just disliked running back. I had the same reason for wanting to buy more inventory space too, had to run back too much. And I'm the type of player that just autoloots everything and sorts through it later. So any extra inventory space is a big advantage.

Thanks for the help so far though. Just want to know more about guild buffs and I think I'll finally have my mind made up about everything. I remember reading a guild castle guide somewhere on these forums a few days ago too. But it didn't mention anything about towers or the stable buff system that you just described.

The buff towers are only in the guild castles which choose to have them, some don't have them at all if they'd prefer to use the space for something else. They are 2 hour buffs, and I'm pretty sure you can get them as often as you'd like.

OK the guild buff towers are free to users and can be gotten every 2 hours. Down side is you can not turn off those buffs and off line time does not count....so have to wait for it to wear off before renewing it unlimited times. Stable buff can be re-gotten at anytime.

As far as Osha...second in population only to Artemis and also PvE.

Have fun and enjoy the game. I am a free to play player that has done fine. It defiantly helps after lv 55 and almost mandatory to use item shop at end-game.

Thanks. I will contact you if I decide to play on Osha too. Hardest part now will just be finding a guild I think. I got another post in the artemis forums seeing what I can come up with. The sticky guild listings are alright but I'm thinking many of those guilds might be inactive by now since the posts were made in 2009.

I had one last question though, does the guild level affect these buffs in any way? Or does it just all depend on the level of the Towers and Stable buildings only. Or perhaps you need at least a level 10 guild first to even allow the construction of a level 10 stable? to use an example. Just wondering if a higher level guild has any impact on this stuff.

I'll put the link to stable levels below so other people can use it if they need it.

Guild lv past lv 9 is for bragging rights only. Level of buildings is what determines buff lv. Techsuport is lv 9 and has most buildings and sieges daily. Evilempires is lv 9 with the most advanced guild castle in U.S. I believe. A lv 10 guild gets 20 more bodies and 1 more daily board that's it.
