Priest vs Druid, wich is the best heals ?

so I have tired of tanking, tired of dps, tired of utility, wanna try out healing. seems like a good choice for me as i am quick on keys and pay attention to whats going on pretty well. just trying to find something more interesting to me in this game before i completly give it up.

classes i have played, and i am going to disregard elite skills and secondaries for the time being. just looking for opinion on overall usefullness of healers.

classes played

W

It depends on what you want.

If you want powerful group heals, a quick single target, excellent buffs, and often relying on group heals instead of single target healing, go with Priest. If you want excellent survivability with those, P/K is your best option.

If you want lots of Heal Over Times (D/S) , a raid-wide instant group heal, great cleanses, and mostly single target heals (Though some combos have alot of group heal ability), go Druid.

Neither is really better or worse in their healing ability, it's all about how they are played. A well played Druid and a well played Priest will heal comparably. However, Druid is much harder to play correctly than Priest, on account of all the extra things they have to worry about (Cleanses, more single target, lots more skills to worry about levelling and using.)

If you play P/K in instances you're garbage

druid it is. i want a challenge.

Edit: forgt to add from what i have seen of priest it offers good survivability but lacks in dps and attacks. we have a druid in guild who has gone from druid rogue, to druid warden. to druid mage, to druid scout. all lvled to 50 by grinding and either she really knows druids inside and out or had great gear she does some sick dps. and heals are all there as well. priest seems more specialized in healing.

I have a priest, and almost exclusively dps, though I can heal pretty well I feel like it...which isnt that often

If you're statted for heals, druids kill much faster, by far. Leveling on my P/K was horrid and took forever, but as D/M or D/S, it's faster due to having more instant casts. The D/M side is still a bit faster than my P/S side was due to having several instant AoEs.

As for healing...druid is definitely much more difficult. There are a lot more heals you need to keep up at the same time, especially on D/S, so it requires a lot more concentration than priest did. I like it. ;)

I play a D/Wd and it has quiet a few useful ES's. You can cast Briar Shield on another person, you get Mysterious Grace which increases your party and your own Mdam. Essence Extraction lets you convert mana into NP. And Grace of the Forest increases your Mana and healing. I know it isnt as popular as D/S or D/M but i like the combo.

Last I knew D/M wasn't a popular healing combo, personally I'm more a fan of D/W myself, two instant group heals one of which uses rage, Awakening of Wild to buff up the party and Nourish as a nice healing buff.

I play a P/K. The only heals that are really used are Group Heal and Urgent Heal. You also have a Group Heal skill that is a instant cast (5minute CD) and you have a nice immunity buff (5 seconds with no damage). Everyone is right about it not being a difficult class to play. You can buff up to over 200k HP and have 250k Pdef with the Knight buffs you get. One of the best skills they have is also Life Link. This allows your urgent heal to heal target + yourself at the same time. This lets you spam heals on party members without having to focus on your own life. Soul bond is also nice since if you do die you can come back to life quickly and keep healing everyone. Ok, now I am going on a little to much.

Leveling... This is HORRIBLE with P/K. You can use Rising Tide (2second slow cast) but that is basically it when you get to endgame. My 3rd class is a Mage (I play M/P all the time as well). So whenever I level my priest (questing) I always switch to P/M that way I have more instant casts to play with.

Druids are great. Ive seen some very good ones heal places like GCH and Tosh. The nice thing about druids is they can heal people better in raids that are not in their specific group. I think P/K used to be the main healer but a few chapters ago something changed and now you see many more druids then before.
