Pick your third class to be Knight. Then you can be K/W for tank, W/K for DPS, or P/K for healing.
W/P is not a good class combination. P/W is fun, but very specialized and difficult to get right.
I play w/p and it does very well. It is not a great sustained dps warrior like w/r or w/wd w/s but has excelent burst dps and is also a beast against casters. w/k really is not a dps warrior rather it is a off tank/tanking warrior and can tank almost as well as k/w. P/w is an awsome and fun class but i beg anyone reading this not to start one as their first char because unless you can afford special gearing the p/w will fail.
As a side note, w/p does not shine until it is 50/50 do to elites. After 50/50 you can have full rage bar out side of combate all the time and while in combate you will be able to easily manage rage generation but you can run out for 2-3 secs so that is why they are more of burst and not sustained.
I personaly am a k/w/p and have been playing my w/p/k combo most often and knight makes a awsome third for the combo.
By the way you saide you roled a w/p what race did you pick? If dworf you cant go knight and will have to choose between rogue, mage, warlock, or champion as your third.
