If that's what you described kef, then escape is not working as intended then.
It should let you be able to "escape" from the clutches of movement related bebuff.
But not as others described, use escape to be immune to eot and gank players under eot efface range.
You may think that it's nothing, but who does not get 1 shotted these days in siege. Frankly, how many time did you use escape to gank people standing near a eot.?
Being able to hide is a signature skill of rogues no doubt, but you got to admit it is a great advantage in siege.
Eot is a just like a stationary scout with detection for other classes in siege. "escape" seems to totally take away that only defense they have against a rogue who is forever in hide mode.

how is that not working as intended? You could put it on the other foot and say that if it didn't work that way, that's imbalance because rogues are supposed to be able to hide!

Just like many have said, just because you can sneak up on someone and gank them (sounds like an intended rogue skill to me) with a high probability that you the rogue will end up dieing, is actually.. working as intended. think....risk / reward

Well, if eyes and lightning towers are supposed to knock players out of hide, being able to ignore them makes using them pointless, may as well stand in a nice open spot to make it easy on the poor rogues :)

I'd place it in the same category as mages being able to thunderstorm everywhere without being inside or wardens being able to send pets in to take out buildings, I don't quite feel that it is operating as intended.
If some classes have innate abilities to negate defenses and line of sight, then other classes are severely limited in comparison.

its possible they used inv the hit shadow step having you targeted then ganked you therefore avaoiding the eot

After hearing all of the input since I started this thread, and facing the guild that was somehow avoiding the Eye's for a 3rd time I have come to these conclusions.

1. If Escape is only 8 seconds long and has a cool down. That could not be what they were using. It was happening to frequently and lasted longer then 8 seconds. So there has to be something else they are doing.

2. If a "hide" skill is bypassing siege weapons designed for the sole purpose of taking a player out of invisibility...then it's not working properly and should be looked at.

Could you read the previous post b4 you post your qq.
You hide and gank players, that's how it works , we are fine with that.
Being able to hide and gank players standing near eyes of true knowledge , that's [redacted] up.!

Hrm.. lets see.. EoTs regularly cast a curse to detect invisibility. Enemies whose invisibility is disabled will be temporarily stunned and unable to move. Escape allows rogues to escape from the control of your opponent for 8.0 seconds, be immune to root and helpless as well as be hidden.

Escape in combination with [edited] "other rogue skills" easily explains what the OP is asking "I seen a rogue for a sec, then vanish, then dead" hrm... geeze.. do rogues have to give up all their secrets? Don't want that to happen again? Don't stand around with your sword/staff up your behind.. move around.. stationary targets are easy to gank.

lol
Your a little short on manners or etiquette...maybe both, but I'll humour you with a response.
I wasn't exactly standing around with my lovely staff stored away in uncomfortable places. Had you understood the original post, you would have realized that the question was how were Rogues bypassing EoT's and defenses (a very specific item in Siege to detect and remove invisibility)
They showed on the screen for less then a second at a distance to far away to be able to make it to me, kill me and still avoid the defenses I had placed around me to fit in the 8 second time frame Escape would have had. Then to be able to do it again very shortly afterwards. There were 3 Eot's,1 upgraded flame tower, 1 Invis tower and 2 FoT's. Yet I turned out to be the sitting duck...seem logical? I think not.

and.......what's the difference between running around getting ganked by Rogues in hide, compared to setting up useless defenses that are supposed to defend against invisible Rogues and players and still getting ganked when they can't be seen? It bypasses the only defense against enemy Rogues.

It's something I had never seen done before. So this is what people call educating ones self. When no one else I asked knew the answer I posted the question in the forum.....because thats what it's here for......right?
I was in the very first siege....so I have seen my share, and have witnessed most of the tricks in the siege play book. But not this specific trick and have yet to see it done by any other guilds then the 2 I was referring to.
As I said in my previous post. This cannot be something that is intended because there was more then 8 seconds that passed before I was killed and it was done to regularly to be on a 2 min cool down. If it is this "top secret skill" then it is broken and should follow the same rules as every other invisibility skill.
If every argument stating that Rogues are not OP when in siege because all you have to do is set up Eye's and defenses to pull them out. Then they are given a skill that bypasses the defenses then, yes, they are OP shouldn't have that skill. It does give them an OP advantage over "Every" other class.

Is it a hack?
Is it an exploit?
Is it a skill?
Is it a food or potion?
I didn't know....so I asked...thats what smart people do...tyvm

I am not sure why when someone can't understand how something in the game works, they cry "SPLOITZ! Not working as INTENDED!" There have been a half dozen people in this thread explain how it works, and how to defeat it. Something that simple doesn't really call for a long discussion. Get in the game and practice, you will get it... or maybe you wont...

It appears that this is a troll, coming from one of the two guilds that the OP notes that uses this hack/exploit.

Still waiting for an explaination from the troll on how to legally extent the 8 second skill time on Escape, and how to legally negate the 2 minute cooldown on Escape. Ditto on how to legally extent candy times and legally negate candy cooldowns.

The second you use any move on another player, you are pulled out of escape and are visible. That is how that works.

I will make it as clear as I can for you.

I noticed something in Siege....1 of the over 500 that I have been in over the 3+ years I have been playing.
That "thing" was something I had never seen done before.
I am not, nor have I ever played a rogue class.
I asked friends, and friends of friends....how it could be done.
They did not know the answer.
I posted a question in the forums.....you know.....where questions are supposed to be asked.
I did not call it an exploit....or a hack....I clearly stated I did not know how they did it, so don't put words in my mouth.
The great responses from some of the earlier posts...up until yours, provided suggestions.
You response casts doubt that it is a "legal" tactic.
The earlier suggestions did not exactly fit the scenario and still could not explain it as it happened.
There were no suggestions on how to defend against it. If it bypasses defense then it bypasses defense and you cant hit what you can't see.

There....your up to speed now.
So if there is a skill that mitigates the effect of specific siege defenses that are designed to defend against the very effect it produces then that should be adjusted/fixed. If it is a food or pot...then again it should be adjusted. "IF" it's a hack then attention has been brought to it. "IF" it is another type of exploit then again now it has some attention and can be addressed.

I don't call hax or exploits, I research first and look for a reasonable way to explain it first. In other words I look for a way to prove it isn't a hack or exploit first before firing off accusations.

So there you are, you might get it now....but probably not.
