McAfee says its a malicous site

Hello, since the RoM Homepage overhaul a bit back. McAfee Site advisor is now recognizing the Runes of Magic US hompage as unsafe.

This may be just a picky website advisor...but then again!

And whats with all the broken links on the US side now?

Yeah, Panda threw a fit after the site update as well. Had to have been a false alarm, though, so I made it ignore the site.

And yep, broken links really should have been fixed by now >.>.

Thank you for the screen print.
Effervescent is right, clean up your HDD and remove cookies and maybe go into the files and delete favorites as well. Try that and set to ignore if those changes did not help.

We are aware of the link issues and are diligently working on all issues.
Thanks for letting us know.

Oh well, I had similar issue in the past with AVAST, either the matter solved itself, or (I really doubd that) Gameforge solved the issue. I was trying to convince 2 friends to come here, but they gave up due same issue. Don't be mad at me as Kalvan did once, but I'm really against disabling AV software or other security measures. I always believed if some AV Software triggered that kind of behavior, it's a player courtesy to report and developer obligation to check with AV company why their software is doing that and take the apropriate measures to ensure safety of their costumers.

McAfee, Norton Internet Security, and Avast! (subscription--"Pro" and "Internet Security") have been known to be overly aggressive and throw out "false positives" for the RoM installation files. That it's now happening with our website revamp with these programs isn't terribly surprising.

There are options, of course. Temporarily disable your a/v program when downloading, installing, and patching up the game. Re-enable the program after you're finished.

When visiting the website and receiving the warning, tell the a/v program to ignore it. Our website is clean and free from malware.

Hope this helps.

Also, I have noticed that this error or site warning from McAfee does not happen when i visit the EU region...Plus all links seem to work corrctly when browsing on the EU region version. Seems it is JUST the US region with the link issues.
