Also, you can share mounts, but toons have to be on same account. That is not a good idea to do so, despite shareability.

How's that? Unless I missed something while I was gone, the partner bag doesn't make a mount accessible to other characters on your account. They also won't transfer mounts now either.

Yeah, I too was disappointed when they first released the Partner Bag, since an FM or GM or someone actually said that it would share across the account >.<. Checked it again after I posted though, and still a no-go.![]()

OP, there are some things that are one-per account. Some promo codes are that way, also a log in (you can't have two toons on same account logged in at same time). Because of that, most people who run multiple toons put them on separate accounts. If you are going to be developing them far, might want to do it now, before you put lots of resources into something that is suboptimally arranged.

There are at least two good uses for toons on the same account as one you play seriously. (1) storage mules - save money by using their free storage. (2) crafting alts - you can only max one skill per toon, and there are 10 skills (planting doesn't count against the limit). As far as I can tell - not having trained anything much but gathering skills - the crafting skills can be trained without leveling the crafting toon very far - provided you have a source of in game money, such as a high level character farming gold.
Personally, I have a whole bunch of level 10-ish storage mules, that I've played a bit to get a feel for each basic class. I only have one serious character, and one semi-serious one... though it would be nice to have 3 eventually, and max all possible gathering skills. [Probably I won't last that long though.]

No, and no... Not the same account. Different accounts for gathering. You will have plenty of times when you want to run more than one client and you won't be able to. Storage alts, sure, they can be on same account. Even that is suboptimal, but you need more of those toons than accounts that is reasonable to set up.
There is not a good reason to have them on same account. My earlier alts, sure, I had them on same account, before I knew any better. Now I have 4 alts at XP cap (as in L72) on separate accounts.

One thing I can think of for the different accounts would be for making the storyteller event much easier to complete, but not sure what other advantages you might mean by the multiple clients?
Right now I have my main and one other toon that I have on the same account I use as a mule for now, but plan on playing seriously later.

Yes, but there are many other things you want to do at same time. Feel like refining? Fire up second client and put your alt on it for next hour or two. Want to check if your seller alt has any money for you? Pop up a new client, take a look and send money if needed (or your material alt, or rune alt or belt alt, or anything else you feel like). Want to gear your alt? Stick him in a HOS run on follow and play on your main. Want to make him a shell alt? That works too, you can have a full party in GG. Or daily runs. I know a person on reni who runs 5 alts at same time (and I bet he really, really, really wants the Dagger Skeleton 6-seater mount). Or make a priest so he can stay at instance entrance and then pop in to raise your real healer if he died.
There are tons of utility to be derived from this and zero to be derived from other way. Heck, you can save yourself half a dozen crashes a day if you don't constantly log out and log in on same ROM client, which you would have to do if your alts on same account.

These are good ideas, and I am considering making a second account. But don't you need a different e-mail address for a seperate account? I have just one, and wasn't sure if you could make more accounts with the same address.
