Weapon Skill Tab?

What exactly does leveling a particular weapon skill from normal attacks do? I am talking about the Weapon Skill tab when you hit "C". Just curious.

This is another reason casters are behind other classes, as we don't get any skill upon good casting, where mele classes do get skill level rise upon good hits.

I did once get even encilopedia from cash shop, and that was worst thing I ever purchased - you have to let your character in game - reading book, but problem is that it might be good idea when level cap was 50 - at the moment is waste of time. At the moment on main I have 125 out of 195 for staff. It get to the point that it takes me 3-4 days to gain 1 level and is actually slowing down even more.

Probably not as long as you don't shadowstab with staff your enemy... (now rustyx is going to laugh again :D)

Some lame mage has done that... :D

For the most part, it increases your weapon accuracy and, therefore, reduces the number of times that your attacks miss the target. But...

It's useful mainly for melee or ranged *physical* DPS damage dealers and not for spellcasters. If you happen to note the skill listings for Wand and 2H Staff, those will display the skill level for *physically* hitting an opponent with the weapon and not the accuracy skill for hitting an opponent with a spell.

I'm not sure if adding Wand or 2H Staff *spell* accuracy to the weapon accuracy list would unbalance what we already have. I'd tend to be against it since *adding* that accuracy might tend to cause physical damage dealers to scream for nerfs.

What about parry. would lvl'ing up a weapon skill allow us to parry more? (talking from the prospective of a knight or /knight)

I'm wondering, with a Warlock/rogue, and shadowstab, which is now magic based and ranged, yet the animation shows me swinging a staff when cast, I miss a lot. Should I be working on my dagger skill, my staff skill, or my magical accuracy (more wisdom)?

I have an alt R/Wl/M. Wl doesn't use mana, but stacking some Wis should improve your MAcc. You wouldn't want to overdo it since you'll want more Int/Mattk and some Dex/x on your "regular" cloth gear. Also depends on your third class. Perhaps a Wl-specific cape or set of wings loaded with a fair amount of Wis/X stats would fill the bill.

And after getting smacked around by an R/M in siege last night, I'm beginning to look at playing that alt as R/M more often.

How will you state your R/M?

I am mainly M/R and if soloing some instances, then I switch to M/P. My R is at 72, but mostly leveled trough dailies, not trough play. Haven't actively played it since L50 on main, but I do have 2 alts that are R/S.

I would go with accuracy or wis runes in gear instead of simply stating wis in the gear

An excellent point, especially since the Accuracy VII runes weren't available when I posted regarding adding Wis stats to gear pieces. They were available later in the day, and I intend to pick up a number of them, specifically for improving my short-round's PAcc and MAcc.
