Newbie Pet - Heat Shot?

Today I was in Varanas Central, and I was hit with an AOE that put a Fear effect on me for a couple seconds.
Looking at my combat log, it said, "Newbie Pet > Heat Shot > Ulrica". I followed the pet that cast it and saw it doing the same thing four more times, and it affected the player whose pet it was. Does anyone know why this happened? Or when it happens?

This might of been one of the pumpkins... i know in Dalanis there are pumpkins that do that.

As has been previously stated, this was the pumpkins - if you're using a combat log addon, it may have erroneously tagged either your target or the last target that performed an action on you (in this case, your newbie pet).

It is not the pumpkins in Dalanis, I had this happen to me last year in Varanas Central.

Never figured out quite what it was, but it was a player that used it on me that time.

I was in Varanas Central, in the Bank when it hit me. I also saw a red burst from the Newbie Pet - it also hit and affected teh only other character nearby, the owner of the newbie pet. During the effect, I was surrounded by flames, not unlike those that appear when you use Scarlet Love (the housemaid defense pot).
