1) Is customer support still virtually non-existent? I know RoM is being run by another company now, but is that for better or worse?
2) Is it still impossible to play endgame without spending money?
3) What is the state on class balancing issues?
4) Is siege war still in beta?
Not exactly sure when you quit, so pardon me if some of this isn't news to you. Wall-of-text incoming.
1.) It's more non-existent than it used to be. Gameforge is worse than Frogster ever was.
2.) It was never impossible. If you only played from Chapter 4 onward, then you'll notice that prices have actually improved. The prices in early/mid Chapter 4 were absolutely ridiculous due to the massive inflation; it's calmed down quite a bit since then, though still nowhere near the pre-inflation prices.
That said, diamonds are on the AH now, which makes it a tad bit more convenient. There are very cheap stats that drop off of high level blue gear that can get you a pretty large boost pretty quickly (sold for ~100-500k each, at least on Osha).
Puris were reduced in price in the CS, so the price in the sale packages (125 per pack of 5) we used to have in the Frogster era is actually a bit higher than the normal price now (19 dias). Several other items in the CS were reduced in price, as well as a few things in the ptoken shop, while other things in the diamond shop were increased significantly (most noticeably, Daily Reset Tickets). Ruby shop prices were jacked up, though, and rubies are now much harder to get.
Overall the in-game cost of gearing isn't too bad, but it will take a while if you're planning on grinding the money up as an f2p player rather than buying your way to the top gear/stats.
3.) Classes are more balanced than they've ever been. There's not a single class that isn't viable -- just some of the hybrid class
combos are still useless (though several have actually been made viable).
The introduction of the 60+70 elites recently helped some class combos quite a bit, too. You can see what they are on the wiki. Unfortunately, there's still no easy way to level second/third classes.
4.) They will forever be hiding behind the "It's in BETA" excuse. They have fixed a few things, such as skills that ignored line-of-sight, and buffing guards/making gates immune to HoTs and bleeds. Overall, siege is a bit more reliable than it used to be, but strange lag still happens somewhat often to random players.
Hope some of this helped. ~
