Castle upgrades, skins, etc

My guild is a few mats away from leveling the walls, and we will presumably upgrade the castle next, and was hoping people could tell me what benefits come from the castle upgrades.

I also heard somewhere that one of the upgrades or skins gave you a dragon in your castle... is it still there? does it function in sw? or should we not bother?

ty :)

I've heard that the architecture of the 2nd level walls makes possible an exploit in siege where people jump from the hills in back and land inside your castle. Don't know how to do this exactly myself, so can't completely confirm. Also, my guild has had level 2 walls for a very long time and don't know of any instance where anyone has actually done it against us. Nevertheless, you may want to investigate that a bit before upgrading the walls.

Maybe someone else can give you a more detailed breakdown of differences between lvl 1 and level 2, but I think it just comes down to architecture.

Oh, idea: find a friendly guild with lvl 2 walls and join them with an alt. That'll give you a tour and you can see for yourself.

I am aware of the potential for exploits of wall jumping. while the slightly lower castle walls may make this easier, people still do it to us with out any upgrades at all. so no diff.

was hoping for more info on the castle upgrades, wish are different from wall upgrades

(apologies for any spelling errors. broken shoulder makes typing difficult)

I believe the castle upgrade is cosmetic only. Too damn expensive, so i haven't given it much thought.

Here is what the Wiki says: Modifies the front and stairs inside the castle,
giving you attack points to the side of the gate and a balcony above it

And the wiki isn't *quite* correct, or at least leaves out some information.

The stone outer wall upgrade gives you four additional foundation (large) points outside the walls, so you can move some buildings that aren't essential to siege outside the walls--buff towers and such--and replace them inside the walls with more useful buildings, such as processing factories, farm, drill grounds, et cetera, where they are better protected.

Remember, each proc provides five (5) crystal extractors, and there's no question that more extractors are definitely better--more crystals available for buying defensive towers, offensive and defensive skill upgrades, scrolls, and so on.

Anyone know what a guard tower is or what it does? it's listed as a building you can make in the tutorial page, and the castle house keeper mentions it offhandedly, but no real info on it and did not see it as an option what I was putting in buildings
