Toon graphics Help

I have the min required to play, however satallite latency is a huge prob . please dont right me off looking to play long term but wont dump cash in to this if I cant fix. Played eq, eq 2 for ten years lookin to find a new home help! As you can see all toon graphics are all white this is a elf. Human female and dwarves are the only toon that are not that I can play. Would like the option to play a elf Thanks!

The problem shown is a result of not loading the textures. Very often that happens when you have lack of memory. If your computer is older and has less than 2GB of RAM or less, you will sometimes run into those. Also, shut down all the other programs (or just reboot the PC) and see if it goes away. If so, it is memory issue.

If not, it is possible that your install is not quite right. Textures could be not loading because texture file is messed up. If so, repair is difficult and the usual advice is to reinstall (something that is not easy for you if you are online via satellite).

Also, this is elven island. You don't spend a lot of time there. If the elven island is the only part of your textures not loading right, then as soon as you hit Level 10 and port to main world, it won't matter if you are elf or not. OK, your own portrait will be wrong, but that does not really matter much.

Oh, and people who have more than 3 classes are clinically insane.

I've experienced a similar issue myself and only managed to fix it by re-installing the game completely.

Be sure to disable any security software whilst patching as they do tend to interfere with the patching process.

since the other races look fine its the elf texture files being corrupt somehow...you can try re-running the last patch in your rom folder. may overwrite the corrupted textures

make sure right clicky it and run as admin

there was a trick to fix this using an older fdb file and just overwriting the current one. lemme see if i can find how we did it

oh..if you just recently installed the game. the original downloaded install files should be on your HD somewhere. "c:\runes of magic" maybe. uninstalling and re-running them may fix it...admin again of course (unless during download the packed file with elf stuff got borked..which seems unlikely. and racist against elves)

Well Thanks to both Of you :) If there couldnt be any other way to fix this (other than reinstall) please let me know. My son plays a human warrior and also has this prob level 20 atm and still all white. I will give it a few days than try to reinstall.
