Settings don't stick - why ?

I am new to the game. First time I entered game, I set my video and audio settings the way I wanted them, but the next time I ran the game, they were reset to defaults. I have made a point to set them, then exit the game, I've tried everything I know, but they are still reset to defaults every time I enter the game anew. This is really frustrating.

Anyone have any help for me on this ?

Several people who download the game using the Gameforge Live client have experienced this problem (fix would probably be to re-download the game using a mirror client)

I had the same problem and I downloaded the game from the mirrors. So it's not just the GF live that's causing it. In order to make my setting stick, I had to edit the "client.config.ini" file. Just open it with notepad, set the values to what you want, save it, and done.

If the desktop link you have opens up the game forge client, try creating a new shortcut directly to client.exe in programs/runes of magic folder.

Edit: also, if you have more than one client open, the last one you close is the only one that saves any changes, so open a single client, make the changes, then close and reopen, settings -should- be saved
