Still on Elven Island at 12

My level 12 Elf Scout is still on Elven Island. I thought I was supposed to get off the island at level 10, do my 2nd class, see the big world, yada yada, yet here I am still in Babyland.

Did I miss a boat or blimp or sumpin ?

yes, u did...follow the road to the west...you should start going up a hill, when u pass snoop, just talk to him, and then continue, at the end, there is a platform, and a guy...talk to the airship operator and he will take you to varanas(one of the main cities)....

Its been along time since I traveled those parts but I seem to remember you can get close to 20 on that map.
That was back before Coast of Opportunity destroyed the older maps xp rates.

You don't have to go anywhere at level 10, but 10 is the recommended level to be able to pick up the quests in Silverspring - your next zone.

I'd suggest sticking around on Elven Island and clearing the quests there - you should manage to reach about level 12-14.

I fully agree with Kroagnon. There's absolutely no shame in finishing off all the quests on Elven Island and delaying picking up your second class well after level 10.

Besides, Elves have a distinct advantage over Humans--not only do they have their own quests on EI, they can then level their second class in Howling Mountains and can, if they wish, ignore Sascilia Steppes and Dragonfang Ridge. Those two zones were originally intended for Chapter I Humans to use in leveling their second class.

Dwarves have a similar advantage, as they have their own starting area and can use Howling Mountains to level their second class, and then continue on to Silverspring.

I have alt mainly used for questing (clearing zones), I cleared Elves Island on main, Howling Mountains on secondary and SS for third class, avoiding CoO and Xaviera.

Logar is in Howling Mountains. But that's the second stop when leveling a new class. Either 'port (Snoop) or take the airship to Varanas, pick up your second class, open the Silverspring/Varanas Snoop, then ride (if you have or rent a mount; if you don't, run all the way to Pioneers' Colony) and start leveling the new class there. (No, I'm not forgetting to open the Logar Snoop. There's a quest to register your recall point, and you can open it then.)

Well, I don't particularly care for SS and DFR. That's just me. Bog knows I've run enough toons through them--incompletely through DFR--and I've done it from both directions (SS to DFR and Ystra to DFR).

I've never had or asked to have a non-Elf 'ported to Elven Island, and I've been told that having a non-Dwarf 'ported to Yrvandis Hollows is essentially a waste of time, since you can't pick up more than a handful of the Dwarvish quests.

Bog? Bog as in God?

Spelling mistake or intentional sign of balkanitis? :)

I am sure that some will port toon to get 1-2 quests, just to be on the top of finished quests/titles on the server... :)

IIRC, when you reached level ten a new quest opened up for you the reward for which was an airship ticket...that was your ticket out of there.

Semi-obscure reference from "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress", by Robert Heinlein. A fine book, Hugo Award winner.

Some will do those ports. They're either completists or have OCD. :D
